Our cherished and loving husband, son, father, brother, uncle and friend, Alan E. McArthur, lost his short battle with cancer on March 15, 2015.
Alan was born on March 26, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah and grew up in Kearns, Utah. He graduated from Kearns High School and joined the Army. He was stationed in Germany and spent a short time in Viet Nam. He was released with an honorable discharge. Alan returned home and married Linda Pons and they had a beautiful daughter, Saddie. They later divorced and Alan met his soulmate Kim. They have been married for 31 years. Alan was a master plumber for 20 years. He was very proud of his profession and worked for J&S Mechanical and Utah Mechanical. Alan was a sports fanatic! He was a season ticket holder for the Utah Utes football team and a huge fan of the New England Patriots. He loved to golf in St. George and Mesquite, Nevada. Alan was an avid NASCAR fan and was fortunate enough to travel to Daytona for the big race. Alan loved to go camping and take road trips. He loved his family very much and was loved by all who knew him.
Alan leaves behind his wife Kim McArthur; daughter Saddie McArthur; stepdaughter Natalie Griffiths and granddaughter Jurnee Tatton, he was very proud of Jurnee and would brag about her accomplishments to anyone who would listen; his mother Betty (Leonard) Gilley of South Jordan; brothers Bret (Bobbi) McArthur of West Jordan, and Jeff McArthur of Tennessee; sisters Cathy (Terryl) Erickson of West Jordan and DeAnn Darden of Pocatello, Idaho.
