Alfred James Sagrati

July 13, 1934 - July 3, 2020

Alfred J. Sagrati, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2020, beloved husband of his college sweetheart Suzanne (Bennett of Laceyville, PA) of 64 years.  Al was preceded in death by his loving parents, Elizabeth (Julius) and Amos Adam Sagrati. He will be mourned by his ten children, their spouses, 24 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Richard of Cowansville, Pa.  Al lived a life of service, and travelled the world professionally and for adventure, often with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Al lived life to the fullest.  He was known for his quick wit, dashing good looks, gourmet cooking and boundless generosity.  He performed with a variety of singing groups, local theater companies, and for his church. He was known for his imitation of Dean Martin.  Hopefully, the sounds of That’s Amore will make heaven an even happier place.

There will be a service for Al on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

To Sue and the family: We were all so blessed to know Al. He taught us all so much. Not by instruction but by the way he navigated and lived life. A better man cannot be found and now I know for sure he is telling jokes and singing That's Amore for the big guy upstairs. All my love and prayers go to you in this time of sorrow. I can't wait for that Great Day when we will all see him again! Love, Tom Davis

My mom and I have been so sad learning of Al’s passing. We loved having all of you as neighbors in Cincinnati. Lots of wonderful memories of your big active family. Being an only child I loved being over your and seeing all of you so busy coming-and-going across the street. Seems like Al was out of town a lot so I didn’t see him too much but I do have a nice memory of him taking me and Tony out In his fancy Mercedes to the theater to see Summer Rental. I still love that movie. In closing, I just want to let you know my mom and I are thinking of you all and very sorry for your loss

I was drawn to this obituary this morning. My immediate and compelling reaction is that this was a life well lived. My condolences to the family--extended and nuclear.

Our deepest condolences to Fred and the entire family. He was the benchmark for the Sagrati family for education and style. Cousin Victor in Maryland is deeply saddened. If Maria or someone could call him, it would really help him. 443-532-2014. God bless you!!
