Alice R. Morgan

July 7, 1920 - March 28, 2013

Alice R. Morgan of Taylorsville, UT made her transition to Spirit in the early morning of March 28, 2013 to the loving welcome of her family waiting on the other side.

She was born Alexandra Regina Przistrzelski in Marinette, WI to Polish immigrants, Joseph Przistrzelski and Julia Malinowski, on July 7, 1920, the third of five children.  Mom loved growing up on the farm, and though you could take the girl out of Wisconsin, you couldn’t take the farm out of the girl which showed up in her love of gardening, home cooking and sewing.  She moved to So. Calif. where she met and married Wendell Earl Morgan in 1950, with whom she raised three children.  They moved to Provo, UT in 1969 where they lived until Earl’s death in 1995.  Alice later moved to Taylorsville in 2003 to be closer to her children.

Mom was our first teacher and very creative in designing learning projects for our schoolwork and for crafts.  She put her whole heart into being a good mother.  We were so proud of our beautiful mother with her delightful smile.   She was warm and kind and could strike up a conversation with anyone.   She especially loved dancing. Her dogs—Teddy, Baby Sarah, and Peanuts, her faithful companion to the end, were precious to her.  She was sweet and grateful to all her caregivers.  We were blessed she lived 92 years.

Alice is survived by her children:  Jennifer Morgan (Mike) Olson and Jeffrey Lee Morgan (Sheri Dolphin-Mark) of UT; Gina Morgan (Bill) Sauve and brother Edward (Lois) Pristel of WI.

We will celebrate her life with friends and family at a wake service on Tues. Apr 2 from 6-8 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 E, SLC. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wed. Apr 3, 10 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E Creek Rd., Cottonwood Hts, UT, followed by burial and a luncheon.

Dear Jennifer, Jeff, and Gina, The way you honor your mother warms my heart. I felt such a soothing presence of dignity and grace there. May that peace linger with you always. Love, Curt

Your Boise zoo post is amazing, Sandra. 27 phoots! That's got to be some kind of blogger record. And Courtney's comment made me smile. The first thing I noticed was how long and thick and beautiful your hair is.About your husband, of course I'll say a prayer for him. Try not to stress too much about this until you have more information. So often these lab results mean nothing - they just scare us half to death. You've been under a lot of stress lately. My word, you were sick for so long I wondered if you'd ever get over it and now you have this relocation to deal with. It's no wonder you're tired. Try to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Soon all this will be behind you and you and your family will be enjoying Arizona! Arizona, right? That's a huge change - Idaho to Arizona. You're all in my prayers.
