Andriana Bicos

February 26, 1936 - January 23, 2022

Following a 2-year struggle with Primary Progressive Aphasia (a rare form of Dementia), Andriana Bicos passed away peacefully in her Las Vegas home January 23, 2022, nearly a month before her 86th birthday. ”Andy”, her preferred nickname, was born on February 26, 1936, in New York City to Greek immigrants, Kanella and Theodore Leonides Anthony (Antonopoulos) and was the youngest of two sisters. She and sister Maria grew up with extended family in the Bronx and had a colorful childhood. Andy was one smart cookie! She graduated High School at 16 and completed her Associates degree before her 19th birthday. When Andy turned 19 years old, she married the first of her two loves and the father of her children, Michael Pavlicas. Together they raised their kids in Commack, a beautiful town on the north shore of Long Island. When her children became teenagers, Andy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New York Institute of Technology and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She worked in the health field for an OBGYN and in the Veteran’s Hospital. She also ambitiously became a business owner of the New Rage Ladies Boutique. Despite her numerous achievements, family was at the center of her universe along with life-long, solid, loyal friendships. She was passionate about life, lived it with intention, and known for her humorous one liners and quick wit. Generous and kind, she always helped those in need. Andy was beautiful all the way through and will be sorely missed all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her children; Connie Pavlicas (AKA ‘Kanella’), Paula Mitchell and Christopher (Melissa) Pavlicas, her grandchildren, Andie (Taylor) Haueter, Alex (Wela) Mitchell, Samantha (John) Stavast, Elena Pavlicas, Julia Pavlicas, a great grandson Henry Stavast, her nieces, Theodora Haskins, Angela (Brad) Simmonds, Maria Diamond, Fran (Peter) Seremetis, nephew Anthony Bicos, her special sister-in-law Kay Diamond (AKA ‘Beba’), second husband Steve Bicos and his children, Christina (Sam) Rousakis, Tom Bicos, Maria Castricone and George (Sandy) Bicos and seven grandchildren in Chicago, as well as her koumbaro, Art (Adrienne) Bicos.

We would like to thank Mom’s special caretaker Jasmine Facey, for the loving care and unique friendship that evolved during her time in our home. We are also so appreciative of Lee Stefin of Encompass Hospice who was so kind and supportive during our most challenging final months of Mom’s life.

As an expression of sympathy, a memorial contribution in Andriana Bicos’ name may be directed to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health at www.keepmemoryalive.org.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday January 29, 2022 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Services may be livestreamed by returning to the site on Saturday at 10:00 AM where a “Watch Service Live” button will appear.  Service and burial will be later posted on this site for all to watch on demand.
