Angela Romrell Whytock
February 26, 1956 - January 10, 2014
Angie passed away peacefully on January 10, 2014 and returned to our Heavenly Father. She was surrounded by those who loved her and was in her favorite atmosphere, wearing pajamas at home. Angie was an extraordinary noble soul. She was born on February 26, 1956 in Rexburg, Idaho to Sharon Richards and Jay Lloy Romrell. She was raised by her loving father and step mother, Elynor Romrell. She graduated from Kearns High School and later married Donnald Lee Whytock. Together they had two children and later divorced. Angie spent her entire career in the mortgage industry and was a great asset to all those that worked with her.
She began a courageous battle with breast cancer nearly six years ago. Her journey has shown others what it truly means to endure to the end and to never make excuses. Her fairest advice was "It is what it is". She always put others before herself, especially family and her precious grandchildren. Angie enjoyed life and took it at an easy pace. She was extremely relaxed with her time, which caused her to be legendarily late for absolutely everything. She was renowned for her entertaining personality, her amazing cooking and her ability to light up any room with her bright blue eyes and electric smile. It is not an understatement to say that Angie's everlasting kindness had no limits. Anyone who met her was intoxicated by her attitude, passion and love. She was warm, kind, generous and fair. Angela was adequately the predestined name because she truly is and forever will be our angel.
Angie's greatest joy was her children and especially her grandchildren. When she welcomed her first grandchild she was far too young and beautiful to be called grandma. Angie was simply "Nana" and gave all her love and energy to her babies. Besides her grandchildren and family, Angie loved spending time with her dearest companion Dewie Layton. Together they would travel, sail the open sea, scuba dive, take motorcycle rides, visit the cabin, and watch The Voice. Her passion for these things has been happily amplified with Dewie by her side. She lived a beautiful life and will be missed dearly.
Survived by her daughter Ashton (Adam) Shunk and their children Andre, Lauren, Kate; son Anthony (Kaylee) Whytock; companion Dewie Layton; stepsons Andrew Whytock and his children Chanse and Dallin; and Kelly (Heather) Whytock and their children Jaeden, Tristyn, Presley, and Chanel; mother Sharon Richards Mead; stepmother Elynor Romrell; brothers Lloy (Diane) Romrell, Scott (Sandy) Verde, Troy (Laura) Verde, Brandon (Misty) Verde; sisters J'Nette (Steve) Bonner, Lorie (Dan) Felix, Colleen (Scott) Hayes; and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her father Jay Lloy Romrell; sister Trina Hancock; brother Wade Verde.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, Jan 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where complimentary valet parking will be provided at the north end of the building.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan 17th at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church Stake Center located 4200 West Skye Dr. (9800 South), South Jordan.

I have known Angie since 1965 I have no been around her in the past years. But I do remember her being one of the sweetist ladies I have ever been around. When ever i would see her she would have a big smile and welcome you with open arms. There are Angels on earth and she was sure one of them.

Angie was like my Aunt! I loved seeing her infectious smile, her full of life laugh, and her bigger than life awesome attitude. She made so many family events, and trips, all the more special and fun. You were my moms partner in crime, and Dewy was my dad's partner in crime. To say you will be missed, is an understatement. We will all miss you, and always know we loved you more than we can say.

I knew Angie as the mortgage wizard, a vital part of Ginger's team. She was always professional, helpful and funny and she greatly honored me when she asked me, out of the 100's of Realtors she worked with, to help members of her family find a home. She will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I just heard about Angie's passing and circumstances Sunday. I feel sad that I had lost track of her. We worked together at Amfac and City Mortgage many years ago. I have several of her recipes in my collection. I have many fond memories of her during the time we worked together. You have my deepest condolences. I hope you are healing.
