Anna Marie LaRusso
July 31, 1917 - May 21, 2015
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 21, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. "Gentle, Cordial and Courageous"
Anna Marie Mueller was born July 31, 1917 to Wilhelm and Barbara Mueller in New York City. Anne grew up in the upper east side of Manhattan, and among her accomplishments at the time included class president of Cathedral High and captain of their basketball team. She married Robert (Rocco) LaRusso in New York City in 1942. Together, they had seven children. Anne and Bob moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1972 for Bob's job transfer with A.I.M.E. and Anne was employed with the University of Utah as a film librarian. Shortly after her husband passed away in 1991, Anne moved back to Bayside, New York. She later returned to Salt Lake City and has spent the last twelve years at St. Joseph's Villa.
Anne's family is extensive. She was one of six siblings; and her husband, Bob, was one of five siblings. She had many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and in-laws. There were wonderful Mueller family gatherings, especially in the Newburgh, New York area.
The most important things in her life were her family, friends, her Catholic faith, and church. She especially enjoyed her time at St. Joseph's Villa where she was able to attend daily mass in the chapel and she played Mexican Train with her friends. She was most appreciative of Father Anastasius whom performed the church services. The family thanks the nurses, aides, and administration at St. Joseph's Villa for their compassionate care.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, Sr., and three of her sons, Daniel Thomas, Michael David, and Francis Xavier. She is survived by four remaining children, Gerard, Robert, Jr., Paul, and Gina Agy, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
There will be a celebratory mass on Saturday May, 30th from 11:30am-12:30pm at St. Joseph's Villa Chapel 451 East Bishop Federal Lane, Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Josephs' Chapel at St. Josephs' Villa., SLC,Utah.
