Ann Gleave Grant

May 7, 1945 - August 15, 2026

Ann was born on May 7, 1945, in Spokane, Washington, to Rex Olsen Gleave and Edith Wixom Gleave of Brigham City, Utah. She graduated from Highland High School before continuing her studies at the University of Utah and Long Beach Community College. On September 18, 1966, she married Larry Erin Grant; though divorced in 1984, their union brought into the world her beloved daughters, Katherine Ann Van Lent and Rebecca Erin McIntyre.

Throughout her life, Ann lived in Texas, Missouri, and twice in California. It was during her second time in California that she discovered a passion for accounting while working for Fox & Company. After returning to Utah, she continued her career in accounting with Fox & Company, Grant Thornton, Foote, Passey, Griffin & Co., and CBIZ.

Ann attempted to retire but quickly found that retirement didn’t suit her. In 2011, she began what would become her absolute favorite position, working alongside Jorge Fierro at Rico Brand. She loved working there, but health complications forced her into a second—and reluctant—retirement. In 2015, Ann was diagnosed with Left Ventricular Non-Compaction Cardiomyopathy and heart failure, conditions she managed with resilience and grace.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Edith Gleave; her brother, Steve Gleave; and her brother-in-law, Mike Quealy.

She is survived by her sisters, Louise Gleave Earl and Kay Gleave Quealy; her daughters, Katherine Ann Van Lent and Rebecca Erin McIntyre (Stephen); and her cherished grandchildren, Ivie Van Lent, Emma Van Lent, Corbin Van Lent and Cale McIntyre. Ann also leaves behind her longtime friend, Ron Babcock, who was an integral part of every family milestone and celebration, and whom we as family.

Ann’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the physicians, nurse practitioners, and dedicated staff at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Failure Clinic for their compassionate care, which ensured she always felt safe and supported.

True to her nature—and because she never liked being the center of attention—Ann requested a small, private gathering for family and close friends to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s memory to the American Heart Association.
