Antonette Ann DeVincenzo

February 14, 1927 - December 12, 2012

Antonette Ann DeVincenzo was born to Marianina and Eduardo Albi on February 14th, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York and died December 12th, 2012.  She was a first generation Italian American.  Her father died when she was just 14 months old.  Her life was shaped and influenced by her mother and her older sister Louise.

Ann was a natural storyteller and loved to talk about growing up in Brooklyn surrounded by the people the sights and the life around her.  She met her future husband, Frank DeVincenzo, and they were married in 1951.  Their son Michael was born in 1953.  They spent most of their married life living on Long Island, NY, moving to Utah in 1976 after Frank’s retirement from the New York City Police Department. After Frank’s death in 1989 Ann moved to Bountiful.

Ann was known as “Zizzi” to her many nieces and nephews.  She was always happiest at family gatherings when the spotlight was on her.  She took an active interest in the people she met in life.  She could enliven an event and was always quick to offer encouragement and advice where it was needed.  We mourn her passing but take comfort in her long life.

She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Marie, her niece Mary Michael and her husband Tim, her nephew Al, along with many grand-nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, December 18th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19th at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Villa, 451 E. Bishop Federal Lane, Salt Lake City.  Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave and “T” Street, Salt Lake City.
