Arleene 'Mike' Hills

June 23, 1929 - August 9, 2018

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Arleene "Mike" Hills, passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2018, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered walking the shoreline of Bear Lake with her schnauzers alongside her, and a majestic sunrise as her backdrop. Her family, friends and community are grateful to have felt her love, support, generosity, and guidance. She was our anchor and will be deeply missed.

Mike was born in Downey, Idaho, to Jesse and Louise McClellan. She grew up in Montpelier, Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. A woman of strong will, ambition, and determination, Mike excelled in her professional endeavors. She lived for retail by owning her own needlepoint shop, working at Nordstrom and at the Little America Gift Shop. She had a passion for antiques, photography, art, and volunteering.

The family will have a private celebration of life on a later date. We would like to thank the caring staff of Beehive Home in Sugarhouse and the St. Mark's Hospital nursing staff for their kind and compassionate care.

In Loving Memory

I'm so sad to hear about Mike. I have such fun memories of her and our needlepoint group years ago. We met in each other's homes once a week and had a great time. Mike was a truly sweet, authentic person, always pleasant to everyone and always willing to help no matter how ;busy she was.

We were so sad to hear of Mike's passing! She was a sweet spunky lady. We were so grateful to have her as a friend and neighbor at Bear Lake. Her spirit will live on with us at Bear Lake. We think of her often. ❤️❤️❤️

Please DO NOT USE MY EMAIL ADDRESS FOR ANY ADVERTISING OR OTHER PURPOSES. I MET MIKE WHILE PLAYING BRIDGE WITH SEVERAL OTHER LADIES. WE ALL ADORED HER. WE ALSO HAD THE ASSISTANCE LEAGUE IN COMMON. UNFORTUNATELY SOME OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL "SORTERS' THROUGH OUT SOME OF HER VALUABLE DONATED ANTIQUES. IT MADE HER VERY UPSET, I WOULD HAVE BEEN EQUALLY UPSET. SHE HAD A VERY NICE, GENEROUS PERSONALITY. I WAS SORRY TO HEAR THE HER MENTAL STATUS WAS DIMINISHING IN THE LATER YEARS. SHE LEAD A REMARKABLE LIFE.
