"Miggs"
Our loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Armond Gene Francone, passed away at the age of 85 on January 22, 2017. He was born in Estes Park, Colorado, on March 10, 1931, to Armond and Hildegarde Franciscotti Francone. Because of his love of marbles as a child he was affectionately known as "Miggs" to everyone who knew him.
After graduating with a degree in Communications from Washington State University, he married his childhood sweetheart, Beverly Jean Hollingsworth, on August 30, 1953, in Coulee Dam, Washington, where they met as teenagers. She preceded him in death in 2006.
After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Miggs carried on the family business with his father and brother, Jerry Francone, and installed beautiful terrazzo Italian marble floors that can be seen all over the western United States, including Utah. He leaves behind his four children: Skip Francone (Shelly), Penny Bridge (Kenny), Kelly Francone (Dan Gimble) and Stacey Francone (Lorraine Ruiz), and his brother, Gerald Francone (Jeanne Zaelit). He had 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church for many years.
Miggs left laughter in his path wherever he went. He had a quick sense of humor and anyone who knew him has a funny "Miggs" story to tell. He loved his family, the New York Yankees, vanilla ice cream, and Hershey bars. We will greatly miss him, his humor and his kindness.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 27th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., where Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1375 Spring Lane, Salt Lake City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Vincent's. He will be entombed at Wasatch Lawn with his wife, Beverly. Special thanks to the Hospice ladies, Ellen and Heidi, who enriched the last year of his life.
In lieu of flowers his children ask that donations be made to the Utah Food Bank in his name.

Sharon and I were greatly saddend to hear of the passing of our brother-in-law Armond. He was a genuine treasure to us, always upbeat and ready with a funny quip that would elicit either a laugh or a groan. We always looked forward to visiting his and Beverly's home. I can't imagine having anyone else but Armond as a brother-in-law. My first real recollection of Armond was as a boy of around 12 years old. Armond and I went on an over night fishing trip to Lost Creek north of my home in Coulee Dam. We had a great time fishing during the day taking home about 46 rainbow trout as I recall. We settled in for the night under the overcast sky when it suddenly started raining the proverbial cats and dogs. It was a real downpour that drove us into my mother's car that she had let us use to get there. We spent the night with me in the back seat and Armond in the front. I was small enough to be fairly comfortable but I don't know about Armond. Another memorable time with Armond was at about 16 years old when I went to Salt Lake City for 2 weeks during the summer to work with he and his dad and crew installing Terrazzo floors in what I believe was a new mental institution or prison in Wyoming. One night we went to dinner where there was a family musical group entertaining. One of the group was a cute young girl who attracted my attention (before Sharon) and Armond goaded me into dancing with her one time. I don't think I even asked her name. Armond would mention that occasion to me several times over the years. Other rememberances were the poker games that always broke out at their house when we visited. Armond was a master at inventing a new poker game that had us chuckling for how it was played. That just added to the good times we had. Armond and Beverly raised a great family of 4 kids. They in turn have gone on to raise great families of their own. Armond had to be, along with Beverly, a great catalist for that to happen. We are going to miss him greatly and are so sorry we are not going to be attending his services to say good-by. We know he will be meeting up again with Beverly who he loved and cherished. So long Armond, it was great knowing you and having you in the family. Our condolences go out to all in the Francone family. Bob and Sharon
