Atonio Paulo Atonio “Nio”

June 5, 1997 - December 15, 2025

Atonio was born in American Samoa on June 5, 1997, to the late Tule Samita Atonio and Paulo Atonio Hunt. Atonio was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a remarkable young man, known for his kindness, humility, and willingness to always lend a helping hand to those in need. Atonio’s radiant character shone brightly in every facet of his life, touching the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. 

Atonio accomplished professional in his chosen career. He worked diligently at Delta Airlines as a tower coordinator, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues for his strong work ethic and positive attitude. In addition to his professional achievements, Atonio’s personal traits were equally admirable. His kindness and Humility were not just words but a way of life that he demonstrated daily. His readiness to help anyone in need was a testament to his generous spirit.

Atonio was preceded in death by his loving mother, the late Tule Samita Atonio. He is survived by his father Paulo Atonio Hunt and Mother Itagia Atonio Hunt, and siblings who cherish his memory and will forever hold him in their hearts.

A family viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 6:00 pm -8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the parking on the north side of the building.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 2, 2025 at 1:00pm at St Francis Xavier church with a viewing at noon, one hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan Utah.

May we take comfort in knowing that our beloved Atonio is at peace and his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. His light will continue to shine and guide us, and his love will forever be with us. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We celebrate his life, honor his memory, and cherish the time we had with him.
