Barb was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was blessed to have 4 loving parents Willie and Frankie Price and Mildred and Nathan Edwards.

After graduating from Judge Memorial High School, Barbara attended Weber State University and graduated top of her class.  Barb started her nursing career at St. Marks Hospital where she was the first black ICU/PCU female nurse to be endorsed by the hospital.  Barb also taught nursing at Stevens-Henager college.  Barb was proud to say that she worked at one company for 40 years.

Family was everything to Barb, especially her son Ren, his wife Kallie, and daughter Valeri.  She treasured her grandsons Shane and Braxton and granddaughters Brooklee, Shyann, and Charlotte.  Everyone knew if you needed a place to stay, her door was always open.

Barb loved her sports.  You’d often find her watching her Packers, Jazz, or pretty much any sporting event. When she wasn’t watching sports, she was traveling.  Barb has visited every continent in her travels.  Often wandering off on her own to get the “real experience”.  Her true passion was reading.  Barb read so much she was offered a job at the library as a librarian.

Barb is survived her siblings Robin Reynolds, Valerie Lamb, Kevin, Elizabeth, Joey Price, and Fred Edwards, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and hosts of family and friends.  She is proceeded in death by parents Willie and Frankie Price, Mildred and Nathan Edwards, siblings Frank, Victor and Billy Price.

A Celebration of Life to Honor Barbara will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Ren and Kallie’s @ 5:00pm.  8024 S. Harley Cove, West Jordan UT 84081.  Dress casual.

In Loving Memory

I was shocked to hear of Barb's passing. She was in ICU at St Marks when I moved to Salt Lake. I absolutely loved her. She always had a smile and kind words, I learned much from her and the wonderful team of ICU nurses. When she left ICU and I had gone to ACU I'd see her in passing and she'd always smile an say hello. My heartfelt condolences and prayer to all her family at this time. Leanna ParksRN.
