Beata Malgorzata Wozniak
June 6, 1964 - September 15, 2024
On September 15, 2024, our cherished mother passed away suddenly after a long, brave battle with cancer at the age of 60 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Beata was born in Kielce, Poland, and after attending the Kielce Technical High School of Arts, emigrated to the United States in 1985. She met the love of her life, Zbigniew, in Utah and they welcomed their son, Philip when they moved together to Connecticut. They then moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1990, where the family welcomed their daughter, Kasia. She was a loving homemaker, always planning family get-togethers, family trips, and always making sure everyone was fed. As her children grew, she then found her passion for pharmacy work. She graduated from Salt Lake Community College in Pharmacy Technician training and worked diligently in Home Infusion Services for the University of Utah for over 20 years. She was a master of her work, often in charge of training other technicians all the while filling almost impossible workloads as if they were a breeze.
Beata’s light has touched so many lives, leaving a lasting mark of her sassy personality, incredible work ethic, and love for family. She had a passion for art and design, easily painting any landscape and decorating any space beautifully, which extended to a love for dancing to her favorite 80’s songs. She loved animals, often raising litters of kittens in her youth to always being seen with her dog, Gucia. While planning get-togethers with family and friends, she was sharing her gift for cooking and swapping recipes. She had a love for all places warm and tropical, as well as a deep love for her home country, Poland. She often would tell stories of Poland and her life growing up there, teaching her children how to speak Polish and celebrate Polish traditions.
Beata is preceded in death by her father, Stefan Kotkowski, and step-father, Zbigniew Pelikanski. She leaves behind her heartbroken family: her spouse, Zbigniew Wozniak; her children, Philip Wozniak and Kasia Wozniak; her mother, Alicja Pelikanska; and her beloved dog, Gucia.
Please join us in saying goodbye at Beata’s wake on Monday, September 23 from 6-8 PM at Stark’s Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek, Utah. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Polish language on Tuesday, September 24th at 10 AM at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church at 276 East 1700 South, Bountiful, Utah. She will be laid to rest immediately after mass at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 275 U Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to funeral expenses.

Dorota
