Bernice Leone Cook Lee

January 14, 1960 - December 8, 2017

Our beautiful, Bernice passed away peacefully in her home on December 8, 2017. She was born on January 14, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Earnest and Leone (Mitchell) Cook.

Bernice was a very strong hardworking woman who spent the last 17 years of her life working for the United States Postal Service. She was a very proud mother and grandmother and such a wonderful, giving soul. Her home was always open to friends and family, as she enjoyed taking everyone up under her wings. She loved to sing and play the guitar and piano. She enjoyed music of all kinds and was always the life of the party. We'll miss our days dancing around the kitchen with her. She took pride in caring for her beautiful home and tending to her yard. Oftentimes, during the summer months, you'd find her in her bikini and sun hat enjoying the warm weather, while she mowed her lawn. She loved her dogs Amigo and Lizzie as well as her cat, Dude. Despite being human she was our super hero!

She is preceded in death by her parents and many dear friends. She is survived by her brother, Leroy Cook (Joann), her two daughters Vhanessa Lee (E.J.) and Amber Lee and her four grandchildren; Jordon, Tatym, Chryshaun and Layah. Who were her pride and joy!

A celebration of Bernice's life will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.starksfuneral.com.
