Betty Zoetmulder

November 8, 1927 - May 12, 2017

In the early morning hours of Friday, May 12, 2017, our Mother, Betty Zoetmulder, passed into the next life on that journey we all take at the end of our mortal lives. She has been joined with her Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, our Blessed Mother Mary, all the angels in heaven, and her sweetheart, Burt. Mom and Dad met each other at the end of World War II in The Netherlands and were married for life. They immigrated to Utah in 1955 after the birth of their first two children.

Our Mother was a convert to the Roman Catholic Church and was an active, faithful member until her death. She encouraged all of her children to remember the comfort that is found in the praise and glory of God the Father and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Mom and Dad were leaders in the Marriage Encounter movement and choir members in all parishes that they attended in the Salt Lake Valley. But most of all, Mom was a good, loving and generous parent, always listened, offered sound advice and welcomed all with kindness and open arms. She was a gentle soul and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Mom was preceded in death by her life long sweetheart, Burt. She is survived by her six children Henry (Jan), Elske (Tommy Bill Gordon, Jr.), Susie (Danny Borgstrom), Catherine (Craig Liston), MaryAnne, and Michael; and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, please kindly donate your time and efforts to any deserving charity, but we know her preference would be to Alzheimer's research.

Arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.starksfuneral.com.

In Loving Memory

Elske, and the rest of Betty's family. So sorry to hear of Betty's passing. We both were privileged to know Betty and Burt, and always enjoyed socializing with them. Debra has many fond memories of her days in the choir. Our thoughts and sympathies are with all of you.
