Beverley Jean Clare, 96, daughter of the late James and Jean Phillips. She was born August 30, 1929 along with her twin Duff Phillips in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada. Beverley peacefully passed away on July 15, 2026 at home with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband John, and brothers Stewart(Nonie) Phillips, Ross Phillips and Duff(Lorraine) Phillips, and son-in-law Michael Kearns.
As a young woman she moved to Vancouver and became a dental hygienist. At St. Andrew Wesley United Church in Vancouver BC, she met many life long friends and also met John Michael Clare who she married on June 6, 1959.
Together, they had children, Miriam and Ian, who were both born in Vancouver BC. The family moved to England in 1966 and then immigrated to the US in 1976. They lived in Colorado Springs, Co and then moved to Philadelphia in 1980. In 1985 moved to Sayre, Pa where they owned Murrelle Printing Co. Inc. Beverley and John retired to Florida in 2002. They moved to Utah part time in 1999 and Beverly moved to Salt Lake City after John’s passing in 2015.
Beverley loved to travel, she always had a passport handy. She was an avid cook and enjoyed entertaining immensely. She preferred to cook for a table of 12 than 2. Cooking rolled over into her charity and community work where she was involved in the Community Dinners at Church of the Redeemer in Sayre.
Beverley loved playing bridge and did so most of her life and twice a week until this April. She found a wonderful community of bridge playing friends at St. Pauls Church and at Legacy Village of Sugarhouse.
She loved dogs and had many throughout her life.
Beverley was a member at St. Marks Episcopal Church since 1999 and was a member of the choir at many churches throughout her moves and she was devoted to her faith.
Beverley is survived by her children Miriam Clare Kearns and Ian (Kathleen) Clare; grandchildren J. Thomas Kearns, and Audrey and Sean Clare.
