Beverly Jean Murnin

January 20, 1934 - February 6, 2025

Beverly Jean Murnin, 91, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Beverly was born on January 20, 1934, in Pasadena, California to Iva Cruse Hall and Perry Raymond Hall. After her parents divorced, she moved with her mother to Park. City, Utah, where she attended Park City

High School. During her time there, she proudly served as the drum majorette for the school band and had the honor of marching in the Rose Bowl Parade.

After high school, Beverly embarked on a career in banking. She began by manually entering checks overnight and worked her way up through dedication and perseverance. She ultimately retired as a branch manager and assistant vice president for Zions Bank, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and commitment to her work.

Although she was never able to finish college, she valued education and made sure her sons were able to obtain higher degrees.

She met the love of her life, Eamon Devalera Murnin in Park City, Utah and they married at the original St Mary’s Catholic Church in 1955. They settled in Centerville, Utah where they enjoyed many wonderful years together until Dee passed in 2019. She lived there until her health declined and she moved to Capitol Hill Assisted Living and Memory care in 2023.

Beyond her career, Beverly found joy in reading, hiking, and cross-country skiing. She and Dee enjoyed watching Notre Dame games together and had many fond memories of marching with her family in the St Patrick’s Day Parade. She cherished spending time with her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Bountiful, where her faith remained an important part of her life.

Beverly is survived by her sons Kelly (Mary Suchyta) and Terence (Cynthia Emmons), as well as her grandchildren- Patrick Murnin (Ellena Keener), Emily Murnin (Quin Vu), and Tara Murnin (Emily Gorelick). She is also survived by her sister Alysia Chapman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eamon Devalera; her brothers James Hall and Charles Chapman; her sister Tina McCombs; and her mother Iva Thiede.

The family wishes to thank all the staff of Capitol Hill for their dedicated care and concern for Beverly during the past two years. We also appreciate the care she received from Hospice nurses Hali Lynn and

Chelsea Terrell as well as Dr. Timothy Farrell.

The family will hold a private graveside service at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Salt Lake City.

A celebration of life will be on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Millcreek, Utah. Please contact the family if you plan on attending the celebration.

In Loving Memory

So many wonderful memories with Aunt Beverly. They go way back to when I was a little girl and I shared time with her and Uncle. All the wonderful family times we’ve spent together, whether it be marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade, the fun cross country ski parties we used to have, the many Murnin weddings. I will hold and cherish all these memories, dear to my heart sending love to all of the family.
