Bob Meyer

October 6, 1945 - March 8, 2020

Robert E. Meyer “Bob” passed away in his sleep on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

He was born on October 6, 1945 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Robert and Claire Meyer.

He graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic School. Bob then began a career in telecommunications, retiring from Precision Wire & Telephone.

Bob had no intention of truly retiring, it just gave him the time to follow a calling that was very close to his heart which was to serve St. Thomas More Parish and later as a trustee to the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert, his mother Claire, his sister Elizabeth and his brother Richard.

He is survived by his daughters Christine Meyer and Katie Budo and his grandchildren Braxton and Brighton Budo.

Bob will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

The family would like to recognize the outpouring of love and support from friends and Bob’s second family at the parish of St. Thomas More.

He formed special relationships that were unwavering to the end. With special thanks to Doug Jones, Kristi Grimez and Gene Cutak.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 4:30-6:30 at St. Thomas More, 3015 East Creek Road, Sandy Utah, where a vigil service will begin at 5:00.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14th at 11:00 AM also at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Thomas More Parish in Bob’s name.

To the Bob Meyer Family As one of the owners of Precision Wire & Telephone I send my condolences to you. Precision Wire was very grateful to have Bob's knowledge of the communication systems, we never worried that the company would go anywhere but forward with Bob at the wheel, we truly appreciated his time and effort to the company. No person has been more deserving than Bob Meyer to have his name lovingly attached to a community and a building he so passionately served! Gratefulness is such an inadequate word to express how deeply he is appreciated. Bob's legacy will continue to live on in the Saint Thomas More community. Godspeed Bob! May God bless Bob's family during this very difficult time. Frank and Michelle Jones
