Braeden Robert Cook
February 4, 1995 - January 15, 2025
Braeden Robert Cook was born February 4, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert L. Cook, Jr. and Sharon Snape Cook, weighing a mere 1 pound 14 ounces. He returned to his heavenly home on January 15, 2025, just shy of his 30th birthday. He is survived by his parents, grandmother (Verna), brothers Nick (Jenni), Chris, and Coby (Cheyenne), as well as nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly (Ashton, Capri, Lyric, Lawson, Oliver, Cora, Coast, Tayvian, Kendall, and Daxton.) He is preceded in death by grandparents William and Margaret Snape and Bob Cook.
A man of many loves, Brady’s passions included family parties, taking apart anything with a motor, boating at Flaming Gorge, and speeding down dirt roads in a side-by-side or a truck, relishing the thrill of life with his trademark laugh echoing through the air. He had an insatiable sweet tooth for Pepsi and Swedish fish and a special knack for making every Christmas morning a unique experience by sneaking downstairs, opening the gifts, and selectively leaving the less interesting ones for others.
Brady was a star in every sense. He attended the School for the Deaf and Blind and later attended and graduated from Jordan Valley School for special needs, as well as graduating from Seminary. He stole the show as Gaston in a school play and was crowned prom king. Brady worked hard, loving his job of vacuuming an apartment building—a perfect fit for a man whose love for vacuums and power tools was nothing short of legendary.
Through all of life’s challenges, Brady remained an angel among us, yet had the ability to fight like the mightiest of all warriors. He taught each who knew him what pure, unconditional, Christlike love looks like. His love for his family, friends, and caretakers was limitless, and theirs for him was equally profound. He was a gift, not a burden, and his life was a testament to resilience, joy, and the divine nature of the human spirit.
Now free from the limitations of his earthly body, Brady stands whole and perfect in the presence of God, no doubt charming everyone in heaven with his infectious laugh, unmatched enthusiasm for life, and unrivaled warrior spirit. While his family and friends will miss him deeply, they find peace in knowing he is finally home, and his joy is eternal.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you celebrate Brady’s life by taking apart a vacuum or weed trimmer, drinking a Pepsi, eating some Swedish Fish, or speeding down a dirt road with the windows down and Brooks & Dunn blasting through the speakers. Because if there’s one thing Brady taught us, it’s that life is meant to be lived with all the love, joy, and laughter you can muster. Hit the gas and go, and love everyone along the way.
We know that many people loved Brady, and we invite everyone to join us (see details below) as we say our farewells for now. Brady wouldn’t care how you dress and neither do we, come as you are and celebrate the life of Brady Cook, our angel on earth.
A viewing will be on Thursday, January 23 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Brady, I didn’t know you personally but I know your brother Coby loved the heck out of you! We know Gods got you in his hands now and that your mission here on earth was fulfilled! Watch over that earthly family but we know that Father has big plans on the other side! #GodsArmy

To the parents and family I send my prayers to you. I have worked with KT&T for 16yrs and this is probably the hardest part of our field that we have to experience.. Just know that he was a great young man and he will be deeply missed by all of us here.

Im am so sad to hear this. I am the lunch lady at Jordan Valley and I vividly remember Brady. He was a kind soul and always happy. Even though he had so many obstacles he found a way to smile always. The gift of laughter is contagious and he freely gave it his all. I will be praying for peace for your family. He was amazing boy.
