Beloved Wife, Mother & Sister

Brenda passed away November 9, 2011.

She was born October 30, 1950 to Michael and Lou-Jean Brown Umiljenovich and was raised in Ogden.  She married Joe Kane on February 5, 1977 in Park City at St. Mary’s and together they raised six children.  She was a people-person and worked in a variety of service-oriented positions. She was the original cat-herder/cat-whisperer.  A nurturing woman, she loved babies and was a mom to everyone.  She was also the boss of everything, including Las Vegas.  Brenda was very intuitive and was always able to sense the needs of her loved ones.  She could have a long conversation with anyone, even a wrong number. She had a great laugh and a beautiful voice. 

She is survived by her husband; children Eric (MaryLou), Adam, Matthew, Melanie (Josh), Nicholas, Stephanie; grandchildren who she adored; siblings Julie (Aaron) Huffman, Lisa (Jerry) Foster; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and her brother Stephen Umiljenovich.

A wake will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 14th at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker, 7405 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, where friends may call upon the family one hour prior to the church.  Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn.

We had a lot of things the same. She Loved you Joe so much, and I know you adored her. Her kids, family, and her grand kids she loved so much. She was a great person, and i'm happy I got to know her.
