It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce James Black, beloved husband to Penny James Black and cherished father to his bonus daughters, Erica Burnell and Ashley Burnell.
Bruce passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, June and LeGrand Black, and his sister, JoAnn Black Price. He is survived by his brothers, Roger Black (Sondra) and Alan Black (Ileen), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A devoted husband and caring father, Bruce touched the lives of everyone he met. Known for his kindness, thirst for knowledge, beautiful works of art, and love of family history, Bruce’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He embraced life with an open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and strangers alike.
Throughout his life, Bruce’s unwavering devotion to his loved ones shone brightly, and his bond with his wife, Penny, was a testament to the strength of their relationship. His love for his daughters, Erica and Ashley, brought him immense joy, and he always wished for their happiness and success.
Bruce’s legacy will live on through the countless memories he created with his family and friends. He was a man who made life richer simply by being a part of it.
