Caleb Matthew Jungert

May 31, 2007 - February 11, 2023

On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Caleb Matthew Jungert, beloved son, passed away at age 15.

Caleb was born on May 31, 2007 in Murray, UT to Matthew and Gretchen Jungert. He has a twin sister named Isabel who he has always adored. Caleb was a very special boy who also had special needs. If you ever met him you wouldn't forget it, his smile would light up even the darkest of places, his laugh and smile could lift anyone's spirit. So often it was him that was suffering and in pain and yet so many times he was the one with the smile to lift everyone up. If he met you, he loved you. If anyone could teach you to love life it was him, to know him was to be loved.

He loved most of all to hold hands while snuggling with Mom and talking with Dad. He always had fun playing and “dancing” with his parents. No matter what it was, he loved to watch his sister perform, be it dancing or singing or the latest TaeKwonDo move. He loved frogs and the color green. He loved to listen to music, anything upbeat, his favorite artist being Jack Johnson. He loved watching his light projector on his ceiling and could watch it for hours. He also enjoyed going to the aquarium and hanging out in the glass tunnel to see all the stingrays and sharks as well as the jellyfish exhibit. He loved life and the people who shared it with him. Truly in God's image was he created, a humble servant of the Lord.

We also want to give our love and appreciation to our wonderful family at the Neurorestorative / Country Life care center and to all the doctors, nurses, CNA's at Primary Children's Hospital, the wheelchair department at Shriners hospital and to the people at Rainbow Kids. From our whole heart, thank you for caring for our son. Because of your hard work, love and dedication he was able to live.

Caleb was preceded in death by his Aunt Nancy Adkins, Grandpa Tim Berry, Papa Dave Hurdelbrink, Great Grandma Carol Berry and Great Grandparents Thomas and Sharlene Flynn.

He is survived by his Father, Mother, Sister, Nana Anne Hurdelbrink, Grandma Sheryll Jungert, Grandpa Michael Jungert, Great Grandparents Gil and Sharon Jungert, Uncle Rob (Yuko) Jungert, Aunt Rachael (Trevor) Christensen, Uncles Sam (Briton) Flynn, Cousins Yoshimi and Satomi Jungert, Cousin Sierra Oaks and many more loved ones.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St. Anna's Greek Orthodox Church, 9201 South 1300 East, Sandy. Funeral service to follow. Caleb will be laid to rest at Mt.
