Cammie Jane Beers

February 26, 1973 - February 7, 2026

Cammie Jane Beers was born February 26, 1973, to Steven K Rosenquist and Fern Kaye Thomas. She passed away due to complications of stage 4 pancreatic cancer on February 07, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband, sister, and kids.

Cammie was the social butterfly of the family and never fit into the typical quiet, behaved mold that society expected, and therefore, gave her mother fits trying to get her through school. She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1991.

Cammie married her Jr High/High School sweetheart, Greg Skogg, on May 13, 1995, and together they had their one and only son Gavin Charles. Although they later divorced, they were committed to raising him with all the love he deserved.

Cammie was very proud of her career at the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office where she began as a dispatcher in 1994 and moved into the Corrections Bureau in 1999. Cammie received many accolades and awards, and made many lifetime brothers and sisters to whom she trusted with her life every day. This was also where she met and eventually married her soulmate, Gary Beers (GFB). Gary had the most beautiful little blond, blue-eyed daughter, Sierra who Cammie loved and welcomed her as her own, and they began to build their family. In 2003, Cammie and Gary welcomed the final perfect piece of their family, Gracie Kaye, and everything finally felt complete.

There is nothing more that Cammie loved than being a mom, often having to defend herself as to who her favorite was even though she loved them each immensely and had a unique relationship with each of them. On this journey toward death, one of the hardest things she had to wrap her mind around was not watching them continue to grow, thrive, and live their own best lives; Even though she is confident that they will.

In 2019, Cammie retired from the SLCOSO and joined the team at Delta Air Lines as an above wing gate agent, later transferring to below wing on their supply/distribution team. Working for Delta, Cammie and Gary were able to travel to places they otherwise may have only dreamt of which made their life even better than you could imagine! What an amazing place to work! There were so many more places on their bucket list that cancer robbed them of.

In 2025, Cammie accepted a job at Hiscox Insurance as a Special Investigator in the fraud division and loved every minute she spent investigating cases. She was so grateful for the opportunity and trust that her boss Aimee gave her, and the personal care and concern of everyone at the company while she went through her treatments.

As has been said, you never work a day in your life if you love what you do.

Finally, she is survived by her loving husband Gary; her kids Sierra, Gavin (Chloee), and Gracie; her parents, Kaye Clayton and Steve (Dixie) Rosenquist; her wonderful and loving stepdad, David Y. Clayton; her very best friend, bravest and strongest big sister Cassie (Corey) Stewart; baby sisters Stephanie Sykes, Christina (Holly) Clayton; step siblings Heidi (Rick) McCauley, Christopher (De) Clayton, Jennifer (Dion) McGee, and Tony (Lisa) Clayton; her brother in-laws Tim and Marc Beers; many nieces and nephews, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Marie Thomas, Orrin and Irene Rosenquist; Mother In-law Cheryl Beers; Aunt Shauna Thomas; Uncle Dennis Thomas; Cousin Trisha Henson Brandon, and nephew Zachary Parsons.

I have many lifelong friends that I could not have done any of this without, especially Tiff, who always made sure I was up for our walks. Hell, even our puppies were best friends! Russ and Shari, our steadfast travel and golfing buddies. Jenn, besties since we were 4 and suffered through all of life’s tragedies and comedies together.

I am going to miss my life, holding my husband, hanging out with my kids, and making memories with my friends. I always said I love so hard that I could never bear to have to let go of the people I love first, so it’s fitting but selfish that I’ve spared myself that pain.

Cammie wrote the above obituary herself, but her family would like to add some of the things that made her extra special. Her endless love and dedication to family and friends was extraordinary. It is difficult to describe how much joy and excitement she brought into all our lives. She loved traveling, being outdoors, and spending long weekends camping wherever Gary could get the motorhome parked. She was always up for the next exciting adventure. She was the glue, the humor, the life of the party. She always had jokes, energy, and sass to the very end.

To know Cammie was to love Cammie. She is sorely missed, but we plan to celebrate her legacy every day and everywhere we go.

Friends are invited to a celebration of Cammie’s life on Saturday, February 28th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

In Loving Memory

We all love you over here in Iowa, we loved you like our own. I can’t even express the sadness. You should still be here but Jesus and the angels needed you elsewhere because of your strength and courage to battle. I pray your family will be okay.

Cammie was such a funny, bright, and loving person! When I met Gracie nearly ten years ago, I had no idea that I would gain an incredible best friend and a second set of parents. Cammie and Gary always made me feel welcome in their home, and I have many amazing memories with their family. I feel extremely lucky to have known and loved Cammie, and I will never forget the impact she had on me. I love you, Cammie! Thank you for everything.
