Carma D. Carr

September 1, 1929 - December 20, 2015

Carma passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2015 with her family by her side. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Eldred, and daughter, Mitzi.
She grew up in Sugarhouse and married the love of her life, Eldred Carr, in July of 1952. She loved yard work and gardening and enjoyed volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. Carma was generous and sweet but spoke her mind.
Carma wrote a letter dictating what she wanted her obituary to say. She didn't want it to be all about her, rather about those that she loved and the impact that they've had on her. She says, "The people that I love have taught me that loving others is the story of your life, to have a giving heart and not expect anything in return. They have given me strength in the most difficult times and taught me that if you stick together you can get through anything. Life is full of delightful treasures and what a treasure it has been."
She wanted to thank Mark, Kevin, Steve, Jessica and Suzette. Also her friends Vicki, Karen, Mary, Phyllis, and Jean as well as Monsignor Bercumshaw, Monsignor Winter, Father Mike and all of the Staff at the Paul Mitchell School.
She is survived by her son and best friend Hal; granddaughter Marshon; Maggie and Boo, and many others who considered her family who will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 28th at 11am. Where a vigil will begin at 10 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, SLC. Interment to follow at Murray City Cemetery.

In Loving Memory

My deepest sympathy to Hal and Shoni. Carma was a kind and wonderful woman with a lot of class. She will be greatly missed.

Hal, Courtney and I rented 805 Garfield about 9 years ago. We loved living there and miss it often. You and your mom are such wonderful people! We have missed you both and speak of you often. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. What a gem she was! She was so sweet when we had our first baby- we have 3 now! Sending you lots of love! The Talbots

So sorry to read about Carma's passing. I worked with her at Ohio Casualty many years ago. She was so fun to work with. She was such a great person.

My husband and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of your beloved Carma. Although we never had the opportunity to meet Carma, personally, we wanted to share with you comfort from Gods word found in John 5:28,29. Jesus showed us a wonderful example of the resurrection when he resurrected Lazarus here on earth, back to the arms of those he was.(John 11) Remember also that our Heavenly Father expresses his loving compassion for all of us when someone we love dies. ( Psalm 34:18) Be sure to share your memories with those who surround you, for the memories shared are the ones most truly cherished, may they bring you a sense of peace and joy to your hearts as you begin to heal. Take care of yourselves and each other during this very difficult time.
