Carol Anne Keithley
"Snow Princess"
11/25/1935 – 7/9/2014

Maestro Abravanel once said, "Carolina I think you are not Snow Queen. I think you are Snow Princess". On Wednesday, July 9th our beloved mother Carol Anne (Price) Keithley a member of the U of U Ballet's "first group", lost her valiant two-year battle with uterine cancer.

Mom loved art. Her keen eye being able to turn any object into a project or applying just that finishing touch to anything. She loved nature, floral arranging, gardening especially her roses and planting anything. Mom had taken interest in genealogy seemingly having the world's oral history at command in her beautiful mind. She also enthusiastically followed the success of Utah based dancers.

Mom had many loves and interests in her life. Her husband James J. who preceded her in death, and her family.

Survived by three sons Blake, Greg (Shelley), Clark (Lorraine); seven grandchildren; and all her nieces and nephews who simply knew her as their favorite aunt. If a gift was pink it came from her.

We were blessed having witnessed her beauty, benefiting from her wisdom, teaching and loving gentle soul.

In Loving Memory

Our most sincere condolences at your great loss! Interestingly Carol might still be a source in bringing great joy to many of her former student dancers. . My wife, the former Barbara Daines, tells me she was taught by Carol during Barbara's freshman year at the U of U circa in 1960 (fall quarter. Both were undoubtedly taking directions and lessons from the incomparable 'Mr. C' at the U of U Theater Arts Department. Barbara tells me that before she met Carol she danced in the first four "Nutcrackers" on campus in the Music Building before Ballet West was born and we were wondering if you happen to have any photos, film or other images you might be able to share? Barbara has precious little evidence to recall her brief but meaningful and joyous journey on stage with Carol and Willam. In fact, Barbara this morning expressed the fondest memories of Carol and how greatly she respected her teaching talents and abilities. Anything would be most treasured and we and our family would be forever grateful. Thank you so much! Most sincerely, Lorimer T. Christensen, Barb's husband, and late-blooming ballet aficionado
