I spent many hours with Katie in the operating room at Avenues Surgical Center. We had a grand time. I missed her so much when she retired. I regret not being able to say goodbye, but I know that's how she wanted it. She was absolutely the funniest person I knew. She had such a love for you boys and talked about your lives with us all the time. She adored the grandchildren and all the time she got with sleep overs and football games. She also loved Gin and tonic and walks with Leo. I know you will be lost without her, how could you not be.She left an awesome impact on everyone. If there's anything you need, please don't hesitate. Tears streaming down my face, difficult to see the keyboard. Good thing i can type by memory. Impossible to express the feelings one has for a person who was as beautiful as Katie, inside and out, the respect, admiration and love i had for her. A very special privilage to have known her, will remember her forever. God bless you all, brothers, sisters, sons, grandchildren.......my heart weeps.

Best Strawberry shake I've ever had! I usually go for the chocolate/peanut butter kind but Carrie mentioned that Katie's favorite was Strawberry. I grabbed a couple of their largest, complete with whip cream and a nilla wafer on top. It was a hot day and I was hurrying because the icecream was melting. I snuck a few tastes at ever red light. When I got there Katie answered the door with a smile and invited me in for a visit. As we hugged and said our hellos I dropped the larger of the two shakes- and as it hit the floor it exploded straight up in the air sending strawberry ice-cream in all directions. (not quite what I had in mind as far as a visit). It didn't even phase Katie, she thought it was "perfect." We cleaned it up and laughed the whole time (I'm confident her floors are still sticky). I ended up staying for well over an hour, talking and laughing. It was a good day and I remember thinking as I left that it was the best Strawberry shake I ever had.

Anthony, James, Andreas, Sophia, Ellie, Mike, Maggie, Sam, Pat and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom, grandmother, and sister. Katie always made me feel welcomed in her home, as well as at the numerous Aloia family gatherings that I was fortunate enough to share in. She always greeted me with a smile. Katie had a grand sense of humor, matching her infectious laugh. I will miss her. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Katie when she lived in Moab, she was a great nurse and a great person, The nurses at Allen Memorial hospital would like to send their condolences, Tina, Nancy, Connie, casey, Gayle, and many others, to her kids who she talked about all the time. She will be missed!!!

I was so sorry to read about Kate. She was truly an unforgettable woman. Although I hadn't seen her in many years, I will always remember her laugh, that wicked wit, and the devilish twinkle in her eye. God speed dear Kate.

I will never forget your unconditional love and support.... thank you for the fun memories we created with "the boys". Liberty Park will never be the same... love and miss you.

Thanks for your many many years in nursing and looking out for my older son Larry when he had his knee surgery at Holy Cross Hospital. The best part of my high school years were spent with Katie, Tony, Maggie and James. I have tremendously fond memories of much laughter and love with them in their warm home. To this day, I remember vividly the smells from the kitchen and the hugs at the front door! My prayers are with you. Katie was truly a unique, loving and kind person. Kate the most awesome godmother a girl could ever have. I feel very blessed that she could be there for the birth of my child Michelle and be so supportive and funny. We will always hold Kate close to our heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Katie was one of the most fun loving persons in our class of 1962. It was always a pleasure to see her at our reunions. I last got to visit with Katie at the PARA basketball tournament in February. We missed her at our 50th class reunion. May God bless all of you in your time of sorrow. John Morrell
