Catherine W. Garnas
September 9, 1942 - December 15, 2023
The world lost one of its brightest lights, Catherine “Cathy” (Gretchen) Garnas. She was an amazing mom, best friend, amazing sister, loving grandmother and the love of her husband's life and he was hers. She was a renaissance woman and so far ahead of her time, she did so many things long before they were vogue to do, An artist, florist, designer, fly fisherwoman, mother, best friend, most loved and loving woman. She is survived by the love of her life (Don Garnas), sister Ayla Coplin (husband Sandy Coplin) daughters Whitney brinton (husband Patrick Brodnicki), Annie Garnas (husband Charles Lamb), her loved Grandsons, CJ Lamb, and Joshua Lamb, and more chosen family than could ever be listed here. fI you knew her, you loved her and she will be truly missed by so many.
A celebration of life/open house, while the flowers are in bloom, will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 12-3 PM at Jeremy Ranch Country Club, 8770 Jeremy Road, Park City, Utah. Flowers made Cathy the happiest, second only to the loving people in her life.

Gretchen (as I called her) has been my dear friend for 45 years. As neighbors, we shared recipes, design ideas and many laughs. We have been through hard times and many happy moments. I love her like a sister and will greatly miss her presence in my life. I'll think of her when I'm at Colter Bay by the Tetons, eating a good meal and sharing life's many adventures that I know she'd appreciate. We'll meet again some day and continue where we left off.

Cathy "my Auntie Cat" was the most amazing, kind, witty and beautiful person that I was so blessed to have in my life. I will miss my "wine visits" with her and how she would make me laugh at the many funny remarks about life and just funny stuff that happens Day to day. She always has the best advice for anyone. My heart and prayers are with my uncle Don, Annie, Whitney and all the family! Rest in Peace my friend! I love and miss you dearly! ♥️

Dear Whitney and Don, Oh how we will miss your Cathy, Mom and Gretchen as I called her. Lovely memories of seeing her artistic talents at work for the Ronald McDonald House will stay with me. That's when I first knew her. Later, lots of fun times and visits in different places. Margo Simmons

Whitney, We knew you and Gretchen in the Yalecrest neighborhood decades ago. She was a good friend on the street, and had a beautiful home. It looks like she went on to a happy life. I just wanted to reach out and say Hello!

As you celebrate Gretchen's life tomorrow, we will be thinking of all of you gathered, and of fond memories of times together in Salt Lake, Sedona, and on trips to Europe and the Middle East. She was a delightful, gracious friend who left us far too soon. Don, and Whitney, may peace and hope be with you. With love, Shirley and Hal, on Syttende Mai, May 17, the Norwegian national holiday
