Cecil Owen Western
1929-2008
The earthly journey of our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend ended peacefully at home in the evening of June 30th surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Cecil Owen Western was born April 23rd, 1929 in Miami, Arizona to Joseph Western and Sylva Lillywhite and was the youngest of 9 children. He was sealed to Virginia Sherman on September 6th, 1948 in Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple and raised 6 children.
Cecil was a plumber and welder by trade and loved hunting, auto racing, old cars and sweets. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings. Cecil worked very hard throughout his whole life. He dearly loved his family and will be missed very much.
He is survived by his loving wife Virginia; and their children Linda (Ron), David (Alice), Wayne (Barbara), Janet (Randy), Tim (Christine), Judy (Mitch); 25 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5th at 10:00AM at the Taylorsville Gardens 1st Ward, 4252 South Bennion Rd., Taylorsville, with a viewing an hour prior to services.
In Loving Memory
I an so verry sorry for your loss. Cecil was always very kind and patient even when Tim and I were teenagers. He always had that sly grin and twinkle in his eye, even when he knew we had been doing stupid things like abusing the old '67 pickup with smoky burn outs. He will be dearly missed. I wish the family well in this time of sorrow. I love you Timmy. Rich
