Celebrating the Life of Vincent Stewart Lantz

November 12, 1955 - August 15, 2026

On the evening of August 14, 2026, Vincent Stewart Lantz fell asleep peacefully in his home in Murray, Utah. Sometime during the night, he gently passed away in his sleep beside his wife, Colleen, who loved him deeply and misses him dearly.

In his youth, Vincent served an LDS mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in North Carolina. This experience was an important part of his early life and reflected his willingness to serve others, connect with people, and share his faith.

Vincent grew up in Missouri in his earlier childhood years and then Salt Lake City in his later childhood years with his 4 sisters and 9 brothers. They all describe how he was always watching over them and caring for them.

He loved the outdoors and found happiness working with his hands. He took great pride in being an ironworker and was never afraid of hard work. Some of Vincent’s greatest work was found in caring for others. He had a tender place in his heart for his family, his siblings, the elderly, the ill, and those who were unable to care for themselves. He genuinely loved people. He was warm, loving, accepting, and nonjudgmental, welcoming others just as they were. He had a natural ability to make people feel comfortable, valued, and cared for extending this beyond just his immediate family.

Vincent shared 27 years of marriage with Anita Liddell, the mother of his four children. Together they raised their family and shared many experiences and memories that became an important part of Vincent’s life story and the legacy he leaves behind.

Later in life, Vincent found a beautiful sense of peace and companionship with his wife, Colleen. They were able to spend 11 glorious years together. She brought a calmness, love, and simplicity into his life that meant so much to him. Vincent loved Colleen very, very much and found great joy in caring for her, sharing their home, tending to their 2 dogs, cat, and bird. simply enjoying life together. There was a tenderness in the way he cared for her, and the life they created together became a place of comfort and peace for Vincent.

Above all, he expressed that his children were his greatest accomplishments, and his children never questioned his love for them. He was proud of them, thought of them often, and carried that love for his family throughout his life.

Vincent leaves behind his wife, Colleen, his four children and their spouses: Talia (TJ), Luke (Laura), Cole (Bethany), and Aleena (Dave); and his 13 beloved grandchildren:

Talia and TJ Riley: Kaeden, Kaitlyn, Kambria, and Kaliya
Luke and Laura Lantz: Aunalee, Wyatt, and Carter
Cole and Bethany Lantz: Weston, Elliott, and Rachel
Aleena and Dave Cope: BrookLynn, Colton, and Alexander

Vincent loved people, and he was a master storyteller. He could take an ordinary memory and bring it to life with his unmistakable facial expressions, enthusiastic gestures, humor, and excitement. When Vincent engaged those around him as he told a story by not just telling it but also living it all over again, and those listening felt they were a part of it too.

He had a way of making life feel a little bigger. He could make you smile, even when you didn’t want to. Life was more colorful, and more exciting simply because he was in it.

Vincent will be missed greatly missed by his family and friends.
