Charlene Peck Johnson
Families Are Forever
Charlene returned to her Heavenly Father and her eternal companion on May 24, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She was born April 13, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ida Pauline Dansie and Earl Ray Peck. She survived polio when she was nine years old. Charlene demonstrated an admirable strength of spirit in overcoming the crippling and painful effects of the disease. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She was employed as a loan officer for Mountain America Credit Union for many years. Charlene loved to cross-stitch and crochet afghans for her family and friends. She was a dedicated mother who was always happy. Her smile remains a fond memory in our hearts.
She is survived by her son Richard (Sheryl) Robbins; grandchildren Micah, Ashley, Brandon; and sisters Erlene (Grant) Taylor, Lila (Wayne) Thompson.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Jesse Johnson; and two children Ricene and Gregory.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church, 3760 West 9380 South, West Jordan. Friends may call upon the family at a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral, also at the church. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights.
In Loving Memory
I don't know if anyone remembers me but I lived across the street from the Peck's when we were little girls. I and Lila were best friends. I remember Charlene and her struggles with Polo. I was sorry to read obitury in the paper. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Sincerly, Jeanne Nation Randall

I worked with Charlene for many years at Mountain America. She was loved by many employees and members she served. I have fond memories of interacting with her - there was always a sparkle in her eye and she was fun to be around. It was obvious she loved her family very much. My sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother and grandmother.

I worked with Charlene at Mountain America. She was always so happy and friendly to everyone. She was also a very giving person. She would bring little gifts to people just for the joy of giving them. She brightened my day many times with just a hug or a smile. The World is a little less bright without her. I will remember her always.

So sorry to hear about sweet Charlene. I worked with Charlene for several years, and she always had a sparkle in her eye, and a mischevious grin on her face. So much fun to be around. Always so positive, never complained. She will always be an example to me.
