Charles Louis Cavagnolo
March 30, 1922 - January 7, 2011
Charles Louis Cavagnolo, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 7, 2011.
Charles was born on March 30, 1922 in Hells Kitchen, New York, to Carlo Ottavio and Rosi Lucia Rossi. He was the eldest of 3 children.
Charles attended High School and Trade School in New York. He married Vivian Lucille Miller in Denver, Colorado on February 19, 1943 and together they had three beautiful daughters. Our parents were together for 63 ½ years.
Charles served honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War ll. After World War ll he attended and graduated from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, Colorado. Employed by Sperry Rand (Unisys) until 1980 when he retired. After he retired he enjoyed wood-working, ceramics, model cars and airplanes. He found pleasure in his flower gardens. Active in the Italian American Civic league, held numerous positions. One of the 35 charter members of Cottonwood Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by daughters; Sondra Kruckenberg Bostwick (Alan Kruckenberg), Sharon Cavagnolo, Pamela Miller Johnson (Charles E. Miller). Grandchildren; Jeffrey Kruckenberg (Kristi), Matthew Kruckenburg (Jennifer), Charles E. ll (Krista), Duaine Miller (Michelle) and Melissa Miller. Great-grandchildren; Charles E. lll, Jaxon Dominick, Kelsie Ann, Erika Rae, Maijah Joy Charity and Justice Elijah Charity. Sister Rose Gloria Cavagnolo and brother John Richard Cavagnolo (Sho Pan) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceeded in death by wife Vivian, his parents, and son-in-law Willie Johnson.
Friends may call upon the family at a wake on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Cottonwood Presbyterian Church, 1580 Vine Street, Salt Lake City, where viewing will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Wasatch Lawn.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Cottonwood Presbyterian Church Anniversary Trust Fund.
