Charlie Taylor Schofield

April 29, 2022 - September 10, 2025

Our sweet Charlie passed away on September 10, 2025 following his Heart Transplant surgery at Primary’s Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Charlie was born to Taylor and Emily Schofield on April 29, 2022 in Salt Lake City at St. Mark’s hospital. Charlie was an extraordinary soul. At just 3 years old he loved to share, give gifts, and was a master at imaginative play. He loved to dress up as Buzz Lightyear, Spiderman and anything that was a costume. He was so intelligent, both mentally and emotionally.  He learned his characters well and once his mask was on, transformed into them. Once transformed, if called “Charlie” he would respond, “I’m not Charlie, I’m Buzz!”, or whoever he was dressed as that day. He lived every day radiating joy.

He touched lives in a way many never do. He gave each person the love they needed. His presence, his gifts of love and connection, and the memories he gave us will always be with us. He was profoundly loved in return by all who knew him.

He lived his final 13 months of life in a hospital, tethered to machines that pumped in place of his heart. He endured more than most of us will ever understand in that short time. And yet, he stayed joyful and full of spirit.  He is his own Superhero, Charlie the Brave.

Charlie’s spirit is so pure and powerful, he will continue on surrounded by peace, love and our family that went before. To quote his favorite character, “to infinity and beyond” Charlie. We love you.

Charlie is survived by his parents, Taylor and Emily Schofield, his grandparents – Lala, Papa and Grandpa and his Aunties and Uncles – Auntie Tori & Uncle Dave, Uncle Hayden, Auntie Audrey & Uncle Jason, Auntie Jessica & Uncle Andrew.

Charlie will be buried at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Starks Funeral Parlor 3651 S 900 E, Millcreek, UT 84106. Donations may be sent to Emily’s Venmo @Emily-Schofield2002 or our GoFundMe:

In Loving Memory

He brought so much joy to the unit. I miss seeing him every day. But he is such a special sweet spirit that was needed somewhere else. Til we meet again Charlie. Aka Spiderman.
