Cherie Pettey Connor
Beloved Mother
A pillar of strength an unselfish soul to the most beautiful woman we will ever know. Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away April 18th, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Cherie was born in Salt Lake City, UT on August 10th, 1937 to Clell and Therma Pettey. She married the love of her life, Velvert Arvie Connor Jr. on June 25th, 1955, until his death on April 16th, 2000, and now they are reunited for all eternity.
She will be greatly missed by all. Cherie was very loving and giving and welcomed all with open arms.
She is survived by her children Eddy (Lou) Connor, Jeff (Wendy) Connor, Melinda Ott (Mark Christensen), and Rachel Burgos; grandchildren Caitland and Arvie Burgos, whom she raised and loved very much, also Jason, Jenny, Jerrie, Michael (Amber), Desirae, Jackie, T.J., Afton, Whitney, and Landon; 12 great-grandchildren; and her very best friend Diane Connor.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 25th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
In lieu of flowers we are accepting donations at Brighton Bank in the name of Cherie Connor.
AND AS MOM WOULD SAY, “HAVE A ZIPPITY DO DAH DAY”.
In Loving Memory
Dear Catee and family: I was surprised and saddened to hear about Cherie's passing. I enjoyed my association with Cherie through our school-related activities. I found her to be a compassionate and loving woman who always put the needs of her family first. I feel fortunate to have known her and will miss her. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you love and comfort, Jill

Cherie was a wonderful Aunt and funny and fun to be around. She made us feel at home when we took over her yard for the fireworks when I was too afraid to do them at my house, becuase our trees are too close to the road. She even let me take her picture! I will miss her very much.

Dear Family, I am a cousin of Cherie. As children and teenagers, we spent wonderful times together during my family's visits to Utah. She always made my summer teenage times real adventures. I have many fond remembrances of her. I found the news about Cherie as I was doing research on my genealogy. May you have peace and comfort at this time. Sharon
