Chris Bonner
1953-2011
Chris Rowan Bonner, 58, our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away April 17th 2011, at his home in Taylorsville, after a 16 month struggle with pancreatic cancer. Chris was born January 31st, 1953 in Ogden, Utah to June Canavos and James Bonner.
He married the love of his life, Cyd Harrison, in Bountiful, Utah, in 1974, and later had two daughters, Jamie and Kristin. Chris was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, and lived to ride his bike. He loved outdoors, and spent considerable time camping, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling the mountains of Utah. He had a deep love for music, and played his acoustic guitar and electric bass, with the volume cranked up, to his favorite rock groups, especially The Beatles. Chris also had a passion for writing, and had been published in the SL Tribune. He was employed at Fluor Corp. as Maintenance Supervisor, and worked with people he admired.
He is survived by his wife Cyd; daughters Jamie (Joshua) Lowry and Kristin (Michael) Hardman; grandsons Jaxson, Aydan, and Rowan; and sisters Kathy (John) Johnson and Diana (Robert) Wells.
In honor of his life a memorial will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
Words cannot begin to describe the hole in our hearts that your passing has brought. We will miss your smile, your laugh, and your quick sense of humor. We would give anything just to hear that Harley start, listen to that mind numbing bass, taste your cooking, or spend Christmas with you, just one more time. You will be missed dearly and in our thoughts always.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to his daughters’ American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team at: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/rockersandwalkers

I knew a friend. A very strong, loyal, ethical man. He would love and protect. He would laugh and make others laugh. His presence would fill a room. He grew a big space in my heart that is now a little more empty. Yes, I knew a friend and that friend is now a permanent part of who I am. I love you Chris and may you now be able to visit again with the ones who have passed and ride Harley's to unimaginable lovely places with the joy only where you are can provide. God Bless you and God Bless your family through the loss they are feeling at this time.

Dear Cyd and Girls Some of the best times of my life were spent at your house and more will be because of who each of you are. Chris became a great husband and father and a wonderful grandpa. Chris was interesting and funny and provided such great material for Jamie & Josh and Kristin & Mike and for the rest of us to discuss his antics. He gave you such a gift as he faced death with such strength, dignity and character and provided his writings of love to you, his girls and his grandchildren. Chris' notes he left around the house are precious. He wanted to comfort you as he went through this and still wants to comfort you now so just think of him and he will bring a smile or a tear to you because of the way he lived and died. My dearest sister you showed such love and strength as you cared for him - that is real pure love with everything else falling away and he knew it and felt it. I will miss my brother-in-law a great deal and will still hear his calling me Suzy and calling his sister-in-laws "the sister wives" as his essence will never leave us.

Cyd, I am so sorry to hear about Chris's battle and loss with the oh so evil cancer. Keith let me know, so I pulled up his obituary online. Chris looked much the same as I remember him after all these years. He still had that same mischeivious grin that he had years ago when I knew him.. It is so great that you two stayed married and raised a family together. I have thought about the two of you throughout the years. It seams that he had a great life and was very loved. Take care of yourself and hopefully your family is close so they can help you through this tragedy. If you have some time and feel like emailing me I would love to hear from you. My condolences, Wendy
