Christie Klungervik
June 10, 1974 - April 5, 2017
Christie Klungervik, 42, chose to enter the realm of angels on April 5, 2017. She grew up in the Dimple Dell area of Sandy, Utah, the oldest daughter of Gorm Klungervik and Beverly Klungervik Turner. Christie graduated from Alta High School, and started college at the University of Utah, then transferred to Westminster College where she graduated from the College of Nursing. She then moved on and received her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist degree from the Gooding Institute in Panama City, Florida.
Christie had a keen memory and brilliant mind. She was an excellent nurse and became a highly skilled Certifeid Nurse Anesthetist. She loved her job and she had the confidence of many colleagues who requested her services when having elective surgeries.
Christie felt most connected to Spirit when she was out in nature. Whether it was hiking, skiing or any other outdoor activities she enjoyed. You could always find her with her camera, capturing the perfect shot. She loved photography, pottery, gardening and cooking. She also loved animals, especially her Mom and Michael's dog, Puppakitty.
Christie was generous with her time and talents. Many people were the lucky recipients of her beautiful knitting projects, paper quilling, and handmade quilts. She spearheaded Subs for Santa, and served with a medical team in Ecuador to provide surgeries for the under privileged.
After finishing school in Panama City, Florida, Christie moved to Austin, Texas then to Spokane, Washington before moving back home to Utah last year. She was working at the University Hospital at the time of her passing.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jorgen and Vera Klungervik and Branch and Erma Britton. Christie is survived by her parents Gorm (Barbara Schneider) and Beverly (Michael Turner); siblings Julie (Ryan) Workman, Ashley and Michael; nieces Denali and Emily Workman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her dearest friends Jennifer Teerlink and Stephanie Profitt.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, April 18th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, where friends and family will gather. Complimentary valet parking provided on the south side of the building. Sharing of memories and stories will start at 6:30pm.
In lieu of owers, please make donations to the Fourth Street Clinic. Christie was passionate about giving back to the community. Per her wishes, Christie will be cremated.
In Loving Memory
May I offer my sincere condolences to the family for your loss. Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things in life to deal with. Lovingly, the Bible assures us that God sees your pain and promises a beautiful future where he will ?swallow up death? and ?wipe away the tears from all faces.? (Isaiah 25:8)
