Christopher R. Blodgett
"In the Arms of his Angels"

Chris Blodgett, 49, passed away on July 20th, 2013, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born July 25th, 1963 in Salt Lake City, the oldest son of Roger and Pat Blodgett. He was a loving son, brother, husband and friend who will be missed deeply.
Chris was married to the love of his life, Kathleen, on August 17, 2002 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. He often told the story of how they met while handing out sack lunches to the homeless as part of the Cathedral's Good Samaritan program. Chris and Kathleen were very spiritual people, deeply rooted in their faith, which made for a remarkable union – they were "two peas in a pod."

During his lifetime, Chris enjoyed swimming, cooking, spending time outdoors, reading, art and especially romantic date nights with his wife

He spent most of his life giving to others, including 17 years as a paraprofessional with the Salt Lake school system, working with the severely disabled. He also enjoyed volunteering in the community and helped out with various charitable fundraisers including the annual Carmelite Fair and American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He felt such joy in helping others and shared his love with all those around him. He was often referred to as an angel on earth.

Toward the end of his life, Chris often spoke about crossing over to the other side and how his angels in heaven were waiting for him. Chris spread his love here on earth and is now in the caring arms of his angels.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen; and her family; parents Roger and Pat; brother Jeff [Laurie and children] and sister Kim [Steve and children] Shemwell; grandmother Elizabeth Nagy.

The family offers sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at IMC Hospital/Hospice and St. Joseph's Villa, as well as the caring support of the Carmelite nuns.

Wake to be held on Chris' 50th birthday, July 25, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Funeral mass will be celebrated on July 26th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel, 5714 Holladay Blvd. Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Carmelite monastery, St. Joseph's Villa or the
Cathedral of the Madeleine Good Samaritan program.
