Christy Young passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.
Born on May 26, 1953, Christy was preceded in death by her father, George Young; her mother, Catherine Young; her sisters, Dorthy Young, Edith Young, and Ethel Brown; and her brother, Gene Young.
She is lovingly survived by her brother, Guy Young, and her sisters, Evelyn Jimerson and Georgia Bright, who will forever cherish her memory.
Christy was a dedicated scholar and caregiver. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her more than twenty years of work in the nursing field reflected her deep compassion and unwavering commitment to caring for others. Nursing was not just her profession—it was her passion.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to PBS or Best Friend Animal Society, causes that were close to Christy’s heart.
Her wit, intelligence, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to park on the north side of the building.
