Chyrle Thomas Nelson

March 19, 1941 - June 30, 2016

The beautiful and cherished wife, mother and friend, Chyrle Nelson, passed away peacefully in her sleep and in her own bed in the early morning hours of June 30, 2016 with her devoted husband of 52 years by her side. From the peaceful expression on her face, it was obvious that she chose to move on with her journey and reduce the suffering of her loved ones watching the pain and agony that she was going through. She
truly believed that her soul and spirit were going to a place where she would once again be with her family and loved ones.
Chyrle was born on March 19, 1941 in Twin Falls, Idaho and after a few family moves ended up in Eureka, Utah and ultimately graduated with honors, from Tintic High School. She then went on to attend the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education.
Although her family was by far the most important thing in her life, she went on to become a teacher of the earlier grades, an occupation that she loved, excelled in and pursued for the remainder of her professional career.
Outdoor activities including hang gliding, camping, river running, hiking, skiing, gol ng, ect. were a staple in Chyrle's life and she spent many happy days enjoying these activities with her family.
A signi cant aspect of her life, however, was the many friends she acquired while living in Denver, CO, Salem, OR, Price, UT, Las Vegas, NV and SLC, UT. She was an avid teller of stories and experiences and thoroughly enjoyed her coffee gatherings, book club socials and any other occasion when the "Ladies" got together to socialize. She remains a good friend to these special people to this day.
Chyrle is survived by her friend, soul-mate and husband Terry. By her three beautiful sons, of whom she was the proudest Mom in the world – Bryan (Kimberly), Mark (Michelle) and Kris (Tracey); grandchildren Ella, Tess, Sam, Amelia and Ben – She loved and enjoyed them with all her heart. By her brother Bruce Thomas (Kathy); and by many friends and relatives.
My beautiful Chyrle was a bright spot in all of our lives and she will be missed more then words could ever express.
Per Chyrle's request, a service and a Celebration of Life Social will be held for her at the Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT on Friday the 8th of July from 7:00 PM TO 9:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome for the express purpose of socializing and having a farewell toast. Complimentary valet parking provided on the North side of the building.

We will deeply miss Chyrle at our Brookwood Ladies lunches. We had great laughs and fascinating discussions. Chyrle had a wit and understanding about her that will always be a part of us. I'm sorry I was out of town Friday, but I wanted to express my heartfelt sympathy. We won't forget her each time we meet! Sincerely, Carolyn

What a shock! I taught with Chyrle at Bluffdale Elementary and can't think of any other fellow teacher I loved more than Chyrle over my entire career. We never got "together for lunch" after your move to AZ. That will always be something I regret. We did exchange Christmas Cards, and we were able to keep in touch that way. What a fantastic and beautiful lady! I loved to hear her retell cute stories of her experiences with kids she taught. She was a master storyteller! I'm so sorry for your loss, but it sounds like she left mortality on her terms. I know she loved you, and your boys, Terry. What fun they are having in heaven with Chyrle there. Please accept my deepest condolences as I know this is an unbearable loss for all of you.
