Clane Bradford Hale

October 15, 1939 - February 5, 2013

Brad passed away on February 5th at Jordan Valley Hospital in West Jordan from complications of a massive infection.  We wish to thank the wonderful people who took care of Brad.

He was born to Clane Bates Hale and Lucile Bradford Hale.  Married Marion Bills in 1969 and was a loving husband for 44 years.

Beloved Husband, Brother and Uncle.  He loved his family and his animals.  He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  Brad and his cousins Hunter and Richard Hale made their own home movies as boys.  He attended East High School, where he performed in plays.  Brad loved poetry, music, art and literature.  He performed at the U of U in No “Time for Sergeants” and “Androcles and the Lion”.

Brad served in the military in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Cuban missile crisis and the death of President Kennedy.  He was there during the monster earthquake in Anchorage, Alaska.  Brad was amazed by the sight and sound of the northern lights.

Brad worked for Paramount Pictures, and Cinerama Releasing Corp. and then went to work in the family business, The Hale Bakery.

Brad survived by his wife Marion; sister Cherie Hale and her companion Miriam (Mims) Murphy; brother Van Edward Hale and his wife Catherine.  He was a loving Uncle to his five nieces Melissa, Stephanie, Gina, Jamee and Andrea.  His sister-in-law Perky Bills.

Friends are invited to visit his family on Monday, February 11th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

In lieu of flowers pleas make donations in his name  to the Utah Animal Advocacy foundation. PO Box 651097, Salt Lake City, UT 84165-1097 or online at www.uaaf.org. Marion and Brad adopted many of their furpeople from them and Brad would be so pleased that they were being helped in this manner.

In Loving Memory

Though he wasn't my uncle (he was my dad's (Hunter) cousin), I called him so. I learned to love Brad through working at the bakery. It was always the best part of the day when Brad came in. He made everyone feel like the were the greatest person in the world. I'll miss his radiant smile and chatting about photography. Love you, Brad!
