Clifford “Cliff” A. Pixton Jr.
December 14, 1960 - July 28, 2026
~ Life and Death are one thread, the same line viewed from different sides ~
We are heartbroken to share Cliff died July 28, 2026. He was only 65 yrs old. Way too young to be gone from this physical world. He was born on a cold and snowy Wednesday night, December 14, 1960 to Pauline A. and Clifford A. Pixton, Sr.
I vividly remember bringing him home. Dad was driving, I was in the middle and mom was holding Cliff in her arms all bundled up. I remember touching those soft, soft newborn baby cheeks. I was so excited to have a baby brother I could play ball with. I was only 6yrs old. What did I know about babies. Then exactly 10 days later on December 24th Christmas Eve, baby brother Cliff is crying in the middle of the night and I am frantic that if he doesn’t stop that crying Santa is not coming to our house. Well, the crying stopped and Santa did arrive and this guy grew to be THE best son, brother, brother-in-law, grandson, nephew, uncle, neighbor and friend. He never bothered anyone. He enjoyed many thing, And he was ALWAYS there for everyone. He was a good man.
We are already missing that deep chuckle he had when he answered the phone and said “What’s going on over there or What’s going on I need to know about.” I personally miss hearing him say “Hey Sis”. Cliff never hung up from a call before saying he loved you and asking if theres anything you need. He used to have this thing he said about things being quiet. He would say “It’s so quiet you can hear a Hummingbird fart !” …. Well Cliff, thats how it’s feeling right now for all of us without you here…
Cliff had a quick wit, was sharp, intelligent, fast learner, kind, generous, funny, and what a superb memory, give him a location and he could rattle off the landmarks surrounding it ( something he was proud of because he said our dad taught him that ). “Clean” was his other middle name. His nephew Christian would always comment and tease about taking a white glove around Cliff’s house because it was so shiny and spotless.
Cliff was a stickler for detail. Everything had it’s place and a place for everything. Even tools and yard equipment were cleaned and stored like they were on display. When he mowed the lawn he gave it a pattern like they do on the baseball diamonds. This same detail was seen in the talent he had for building things. Handrails, trim, refinishing furniture, finishing basements, building decks and fences. Cliff built our fence along with his nephew Christian back in 2001. It is still bordering our home today and not one board is missing. He never did things half way. He enjoyed and loved it and it showed. Oh, and let us not forget to mention his detail to wrapping a gift. Good Lord, you never wanted to open it. It could have been in a department store window display! He took great “pride” in all the things he did.
Things Cliff loved: the mountains, watching the sunrise in the mountains, sunsets, fishing with his dad and friends, camping, sitting by a fire, NFL Football, his team the Cowboys, Super Bowl parties, parties, Ford trucks, cowboy boots and hats, levi straus 501’s, tee shirts, hoodies, Coors, Budweiser, country music, Willie Nelson, fifties style furniture, yard sales, yard work, trading with the Lord, home shows, Home Depot and Lowes with Mike, stupid jokes, throwing darts, Wendover, going to breakfast, best mexican food at our fav Rose Park Chubby’s, his beloved Rose Park neighborhood, family, friends, laughter and animals. Just naming a few things … wink, wink
Cliff religiously fed the feral cats a Quick Turn Circuits much to their dismay. But he did it anyway. Wasn’t going to let those cats down. He always carried mini milk bone treats in his pants pocket for all the neighborhood pets. He put out nuts for the squirrels regularly and truly loved the Cooper Hawks this past season and past few months that were nearby in the neighborhood and would watch them drink water off the sidewalk as he watered the lawn in the evenings. I learned just recently from’s Cliff’s neighbor that the Cooper Hawks are seasonal and he said to me …”The Hawks left when Cliff did.” …
Cliff graduated from West High School in 1979. He had a strong and loyal work ethic. Started working in high school. Jobs throughout his life include dishwasher at the Masonic Temple, Christiansen Diamond where they made diamond drill bits for mining until the company relocated to Texas, Quick Turn Circuits making computer circuit boards, a ten year stretch where he was his brother-in-law’s right hand man helping him on weekends at The Pantry, and his last employment at Smith’s Food and Drug (Kroger). He was on the front lines at Smith’s all through Covid and never missed a day of work and worked many overtime hours. Cliff “loved” his Smith’s family-co-workers. They were an extended family.
If you were a co-worker, a neighbor, a friend, anyone who “knew” Cliff, then you know of his big heart. He would help anyone in any way he could. He was all in. He didn’t do things half-way here either. If you ever had one of his HUGS you will never forget it ! And … you better be standing on solid ground when he came in for one of his signature handshakes !! Always judge a person by the size of their heart.
Our family wishes to thank Heather A. Mauro, APRN and Janette for their exceptional care and kindness. You are healthcare hero’s at their best. You made a difference.
Cliff leaves behind his sis Debbie, brother/brother-in-law Mike Mylonakis, nieces Jenn (Randy) Jenkins, Brooke (Bill) Cordray, great nephews and niece Braeden, Preston and Taia Jenkins, great great nephew Augustus Jenkins. Many friends and acquaintances, many friends who have been like family throughout his life. Chris, Ryan and Victor … Cliff was proud of and always loved you. Preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Polly Pixton, beloved nephew Christian Patrick Welch, Godparents Frank and Margie Calegory, grandparents Richard and Winnie Pixton, Alfonso and Charlotta Ventura.
There will be no public services. The family wishes and hopes for everyone to remember and celebrate Cliff in your own way. Say his name often. Put on a country tune, crack a cold beer and watch a sunset. You might just see him soaring by. He will be with the Cooper Hawks. He has his wings now. He is free…
In lieu of flowers please think about donating to an animal shelter in Cliff’s memory or any charity of your choosing. Stay rooted in LOVE. Spread a kindness and love each day. For LOVE is all that really matters in this world, in the end.
P.S. Brother, do they have post-it notes in Heaven ? I love you, Sis
In Loving Memory
