Clyde H. Schindler
March 23, 1924 - May 19, 2014
Clyde passed away May 19, 2014.
He was born March 23, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Susan Wilson and Henry Schindler. In his early years, he entered the U.S. Navy and served his country for 22 years. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and fought in both World War II and the Korean War earning many awards and medals. Clyde finished his education at U.C. Berkley. His independent, adventurous spirit led him to travel all over the world. He had a lifelong love of golfing. Clyde was a big fan of major league baseball his entire life, following all the teams and players. Although he never married he enjoyed being with family and especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Later in his life, he liked to play scrabble as he had an incredible vocabulary. He enjoyed his final years at Sunrise with many wonderful friends and staff. His cheerful smile will be missed.
He is survived by his sisters Melva Williams and Kay Duncan and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at 2:00 PM at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City. Friends may call upon the family from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
