Collin James Worland
October 14, 1998 - November 2, 2011
Collin James Worland, age 13, from West Jordan, Utah, was taken from us suddenly on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, after being struck on his way to school.
Collin was the oldest of five children; he was born at home to Kenny and Erin Worland, October 14, 1998 in St. George Utah. His family then moved to Northern Utah when he was 5 years old.
He was exceptionally intelligent and gifted in many ways. Collin began performing at a very young age singing solos and duets with his mother in church. At the age of 4, he won the title of Southern Utah Most Talented Kid, and at the age of 7, he became the official "Spokes-kid" for Star 102.7, a Salt Lake radio station. At 9, he traveled with a professional theater group as one of the leads. Collin recently began taking street dancing lessons, which he really enjoyed. He also wanted to learn tumbling like his younger brother, Ethan.
Collin was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and developed a strong testimony of the gospel at a very young age; he couldn't wait to serve a mission. Collin was active in his scouting troop and loved the outdoors. He was a great friend and good example; he made those around him feel good about themselves.
He loved going shooting with his dad and was a big help to his mother around the house. Collin was an amazing big brother and loved his younger siblings so much. His younger brother Ethan was his best friend. He loved his little sister Amelia and used to carry her on his shoulders when she got tired of walking. But he especially adored the little twins, Toby and Max, who he referred to as his “babies.” He will be greatly missed by this family.
Collin leaves behind: his mother Erin Camp Worland and father Kenneth Worland; siblings Ethan (10), Amelia (6), and twins Toby and Max (22 months); grandparents David Camp, Elizabeth Wyson (and Daniel) Smith, James (and Janet) Worland, LaDonna (and Charlie) Spotts; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 11:00 A.M. at the Cobble Creek Stake Center, 8150 South Grizzly Way, West Jordan. The viewing will begin at 9:00 A.M. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Collin Worland Memorial Fund (acct.# 3395510021) at any Wells Fargo Location, or at www.facebook,/rememberingcollin.
In Loving Memory
"It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone." Rose Kennedy US wife of Joseph Patrick Kennedy Sr. (1890 - 1995)
