Constance Rae Brunetti

October 21, 1935 - May 4, 2013

Constance Rae Brunetti
"Connie"

Connie died on May 4, 2013 at St. Mark's Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1935 in Price, Utah to Anthony and Katherine Fratto and was the eldest of 3 children.

Connie graduated from Carbon College in 1957 and Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1958 where she earned the distinction of Registered Nurse (RN). She attended the College of Saint Mary-of-the-Wasatch where she worked as the school nurse to pay her tuition. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1959. Her work as a nurse began at Holy Cross Hospital where she also taught nursing for seven years.

She put her career aside to raise her two children and returned to work only after they were in school full time in 1976. She was the RN Quality Assurance/Infection Control Coordinator at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Salt Lake City until she retired. Yet her life as a nurse was far from over as she then cared for both her parents until they passed. Throughout her career as a nurse she was an advocate for dignity, compassion and genuine love to all who knew her either as a patient, student or coworker.

Connie's love for nursing was surpassed only by her love for her husband, children and three beautiful grandchildren. She could always be seen in the kitchen with a pot of sauce on the stove or Italian pastries in the oven. If "Mama" was in the kitchen you were in for a feast.

She is survived by her amazing, loving and selflessly devoted husband of 52 years Ross C. Brunetti; son Dr. Ross (Andrea) Brunetti; daughter Alicia (Ron) Dias; grandchildren Ross D. Brunetti, Mark Brunetti, and Anij Dias; and brothers Robert (Irene) Fratto and Anthony (Mindy) Fratto.

There is not a life that she has touched that won't be forever changed for the better. She was truly one of a kind that all aspire to be. Her heartfelt love and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Connie was a woman of immense faith. She was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. She was known as the "Green Scapular Lady" and always expressed a devotion to Mary and her Immaculate Heart. She exemplified God's love for all with every breath she took.

A wake to celebrate her life will be held May 7th at 6pm at the Starks Funeral Parlor 900 E 3651 S. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated May 8th at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 1375 E Spring Lane. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave. and "T" Street.

Memorial donations may be made in our mother's name to the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Dear Ross and Family, Connie was my mother, Marilyn Volmer's, "dear friend". And thru the love and friendship she had for my mother I loved Connie. She kept in touch with me for many years after my mother's passing and this was a great comfort to me. Connie was a true lady in word and deed. I am so sad that she is gone and will pray that you all will be comforted now and in the days to come with the precious memories you have.
