Cory Christopher Burt
“Go Giants”
Cory Christopher Burt, loving son, brother, father, nephew, uncle and cousin passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 21, 2013. He was born on November 8, 1973 in Salt Lake City to Lawrence Burt and Ruth Enriquez Swanson.
Cory grew up in Rose Park and graduated from West High School. Cory was a friend to all and every person he met became his friend for life. In his quiet unassuming way he cared deeply about each one of his friends (and there are many) and every member of his family. His multitude of friends is a testament of his kindness and caring nature. He was a very loyal and trusted friend. He always had your back and his friendship was one to be cherished. He would give you his word and would commit to it honorably. Cory had a profound love and respect for his mother, and their unique relationship was admired by many. He was a consummate gentleman with impeccable taste. He will be deeply missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
He leaves behind his father Lawrence (Sherry) Burt; mother and best friend Ruth Enriquez Swanson; brothers Mike (Carol) Saldivar, Jeff (Mya) Saldivar; precious daughter Alexa G. Martinez, age 11; beloved grandmother and good friend Pat Swanson; step-father Steve Swanson and his children Tisa Swanson and Ciara (Courtney) Jensen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. He will also be deeply missed by god son Lucius Valencia, Jr.; step-father George Sturtzenegger and his children Teresa (Dan) Tullis and Scott Sturtzenegger.
Preceded in death by grandparents John and Rose Enriquez, Colin and Beth Burt; sister Michelle Holladay; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26th, at 11:00 AM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, with a visitation one hour prior to services. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.
