Cynthia Lee Bemis
January 27, 1961 - December 21, 2021
Cynthia (“Cyndi”) Lee Bemis, 60, died December 21, 2021. After a long battle fought valiantly against frontotemporal dementia, Cynthia passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Cyndi was born in Ithaca, New York, and spent the majority of her formative years in St. Anthony, Idaho, with her mother, Carma, and brother, Jeff. Cyndi went on to graduate from BYU with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her passion for public speaking and exceptional writing abilities brought her to Salt Lake City, where she began keeping Utahns healthy and informed on KTVX, followed by a career with the Utah Department of Health.
Even as the small Italian woman she was, Cyndi never failed to fight for those she loved. As a young woman she chased away her brother's bullies because it was the right thing to do. That love continued with her family and was shown through home cooked meals and a sense of humor that often went over her children’s heads.
She was immensely loved and will be incredibly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Thursday, December 30th, 2021, at 6 p.m. The service will also be live streamed for those who would like but are unable to attend physically.
