Daniel (Danny) Brett Herron

May 25, 1975 - July 1, 2021

Danny passed away on July 1, 2021 at the age of 46.  He went back to the State of Washington in April 2021 to spend time with his father and reconnect with his friends.  Everyone said he was a stand-up guy that would lift people up and accept them for who they are.

Danny struggled with addiction and depression for over 24 years. He fought long and hard, until he could not hold on any longer. In rehab he was known as “Captain Savior”. When others were struggling and had no family or money, he would help them get what they needed.

He was born three months early on May 25th, 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Starting life as a fighter and continued that battle until the end. A fun-loving guy with an infectious smile who was known as a sports fanatic. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1993, where he had the best of friends.  At the age of 22 he moved back to Utah, where he enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, and fishing. He was especially close with his mother. She was the foundation in his life.  In 2006 his daughter Grace was born and was the love of his life. He would move heaven and earth for her. His daily routine included a trip to the 7-11. He often took his daughter and her friends for their favorite treats.

He is survived by his daughter Grace Herron, mother Lisa Christoffersen, father Robert Herron, brother Tony Herron (Tiffany), sister Michelle McCoy (Christopher), nieces and nephew, Jordan, Brandon, Camille, Samantha, Kailee, and Deziray.

A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84106.

In Loving Memory

I am so sorry for your loss. Danny and I grew up in the same circle and played together as children.  This is very shocking to find out. RIP!

Many blessings to his family and friends. I am thankful I got to see Danny and spend some time with him before he left us. I will treasure that day and all the times I spent with him. He was a good man and a good friend. We had some fun times together. Myself and all of his friends here in Washington loved him very much. We'll miss you Weez.

We will all miss him, my heart hurts. Our prayers go out to his daughter and family.  Feels like just yesterday his dad called the ambulance for me when I was 5 when I went through Shaun Cahoons window. He will be sadly missed.  Danny's house was the first place I ran to for help.  His father came to my rescue and ill always be grateful for that.

Blue Reeboks, pants rolled up slightly, hair the way I wanted mine. The Danny I remember the first day he showed up at school as the new kid. I picked on him all day letting him know he wasn't going to run things. Two days later he was my best friend. He had that kind of personality that kind of charm. He was "The Wheez" as we would eventually call him.       There was a short time in 8th grade where his dad and my mom hung out and would go country dancing and we wished to be step brothers. I only wish it would had happened, maybe I could have helped. I love you buddy.       Like my new tattoo says                  Like A Brother                          DH

Danny was a dear friend of mine. He helped me through some very difficult times. I will never see his like again. I'll always love that man. He was so kind and receptive. I was devistated by his passing, and never judged him for it. I'll miss him till the end of my days.
