Darlene Peterson Bjerregaard
SLC-UT
Our wonderful mom, grandmother, and friend died June 12, 2013.
Mom was born on February 17, 1924 to Sidney and Fern Peterson. She shared their Redmond, UT home with 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
On November 17, 1945, she married Shirley LaMar Bjerregaard, who preceded her in death in 1984. Together they had six children, Sherm (Barb) Bjerregaard, Gaylene Woodruff (Larry Holt), Brent (Debbie) Bjerregaard, Alane (Tom) Costanzo, Gerildine "Geri" (Randy) Jeppson, Tonya (Cory) Mackintosh.
Mom loved her daily walk, riding her bike, and visiting anyone she met on her journey. She loved her Rose Park home, yard, neighbors, and friends. Late into her 80's you would see her outside caring for her yard, sitting on the front porch, or helping a neighbor. She had a beautiful smile, which was contagious.
Her greatest accomplishment was her family. In addition to six children she had 21 grandchildren, 34 great and 3 great- great grandchildren Mom's eyes would light up each time her family came to see her and every family member had a special place in her heart.
Mom worked at Zim's, JC Penney, and S L School District. At school, Mom was known as "Grandma".
Darlene moved to Heritage Place in the last years of her life where she met many new friends. A special thanks to CNS, Right at Home and Heritage Place for their care and support.
Preceded in death by her parents, spouse, grandchildren Terre Holcomb and Karrie Latturner; brothers and sisters Idonna Jorgenson, Kendall Peterson, Grandon Peterson (infant), Moylee Peterson, Marella Taylor and WilaDean Olsen.

In Loving Memory
My dearest friend Darlene, How I'll miss you, you'll never know. We used to sit and yak and I loved to hear about your school work. We both worked for J.C. Penney. You in the store, and I at the accounting office, not at the same time. You were the first friend I made here at Heritage. I always looked for you in the front chairs. I took you walking sometimes. You had the sweetest smile. I loved you so much. May God bless you. Martha Wallace

Aunt Darlene was very kind to my family. She took care of me when she was in the school lunch program. When I was at the school she made sure that I had extra food and took care of me when I forgot my tickets. She was a friend when I needed one and always had a hug for me. Then when I left she took care of my cousins Jason & Kendall. Lastly my youngest brother David. A light as bright as hers will last in the legacy of those she helped. God bless your family at this time of morning, but we celebrate your life. We celebrate the fact that your in the loving arms of your creator enjoying some well deserved rest.

Dear Brent and Family, I was very sad when I saw your Mom's pretty picture in the obituary. She hasn't changed in all these years. She was a very sweet and kind lady, and it was a pleasure to have met her. Please consider this message a hug to each of you, and I am truly sorry about her passing.

I always enjoyed Darlene's smile. She smiled always and many times that sweet smile lifted my spirits. I am very grateful I had the chance to get to know her and that she was part of my life.

Darlene's children Your Mother was a remarkable lady. She was always so pleasant, happy, and upbeat and would call out to me as I walked by her house. She was a little ray of sunshine wherever she went. She will be sorely missed.
