Darrel Thomas Allred
January 22, 1930 - July 5, 2014
Darrel Thomas Allred, 84, our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend peacefully passed away on July 5, 2014.
Darrel was the third of three children born to Thomas & Laverne Allred on January 22, 1930 in Deseret, UT. He was eternally married to the love of his life, Lou Hilton, in the Manti Temple on February 2, 1951. Lou preceded him in death in March 2011. During their loving 60 year marriage they had 5 children; LeAnn Redford (JAC), Michael Allred, Sherrie Rice (Robert-deceased), Kristine Allred Gabel (deceased), Chad Allred, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Darrel was extremely talented and loving, with a zest for life and an infectious sense of humor. He was a faithful member of the LDS church in which he honorably served in numerous callings. His final active calling was in the Stake Mission Presidency. He continued to serve as a missionary for the remainder of his life always sharing his beliefs and great love for the church. Darrel’s main business profession was selling stainless steel cookware but his sales skills and abilities to trade goods extended well beyond cookware. Darrel loved music. He was always singing, whistling, and/or humming, regardless of where he was. He loved to play his guitar and sing with his family, especially at Christmas or other special family gatherings.
In addition to his children, and grandchildren Darrel is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends that will dearly miss him.
