Dave Yack
July 6, 1984 - January 28, 2023
Dave was born on Friday, July 6, 1984 to Susan (Suzy) Soffe Yack and Jearold (Jerry) Yack at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray, Utah. He passed at his apartment in West Valley.
Dave was one of a kind. He had many nicknames—terms of endearment from his many “fans.” He loved people and animals. He always stood up for his friends and family, especially, if they appeared to be bullied—he was a protector. He had a friendly, out-going, irresistible personality. I don’t know of anybody who didn’t love him within minutes of meeting him. He was smart, articulate and athletic. He played baseball, basketball, golf, Highland games and fished, but, his big love was football. He played from the time he was 8, all the way through Jordan High School, where he was First Team All State on the interior defensive line. He played on scholarship at Dixie State. He worked at Waxie, where he became the warehouse supervisor. He had a beautiful little daughter named for his high school, at the suggestion of his Grandpa, Carlos Soffe, who was also an alumnus and for her maternal grandmother. They named her Jordyn Kimberly and she is non-stop energy. She loved her Dadda and he loved her above all else. He never lost patience with her and catered to her every whim but, he was firm. He taught her sign language before she could talk. She loved to tickle his beard, knock his baseball cap off and play airplane among many other games they played together. His Aunt Toot, who loved him dearly was like a second Mom to him and an angel sent for us and everybody she touches.
Dave is survived by: His daughter, Jordyn, his Daddo, Jerry, his Ma, Suzy (whom he fiercely loved and defended), his brother, Larry and Larry’s daughter, Kelsie. Preceded by: His grandparents, Lawrence and Jennis Yack, Carlos and Gloria Soffe (and his Uncle Mikey), all of whom have been preparing for a huge family (and friends) reunion.

In Loving Memory
Dear Suzy and Larry, So sorry to read of your son's passing. No one knows the sorrow of losing a beloved son unless you have gone thru it. That is the way Renee and I felt when we lost our son Jason. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and Larry Jr. We hope that the Lord blesses you all with peace and comfort. We enjoyed having you both for neighbors and wish you and your Family well going into the future. With Love and Sympathy, Richard and Renee Beckstead.

My heart goes out to you and your family. My grandson attempted suicide about one year ago ago and the fear of losing him was overwhelming. The loss of a child is probably the hardest thing a parent has to go through. Love to the family and Blessings for finding inner peace with time.
