DAVID CHARLES BOONE

1949-2011

David Charles Boone passed away peacefully on the morning of March 14, 2011 at St. Marks Hospital with his family at his side.

David was born to Daniel and Beverly Boone on December 14, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was the 4th great grandson of frontiersman Daniel Boone. He was raised in the Salt Lake area with his siblings Danny, Susan, Rebecca Layton of Normon, OK and Deborah Parry of Oldney, MD.  David is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Danny and Susan.

After serving in the Air Force as a radio technician, David spent his career in the telecommunications industry until he retired in the year 2000.

David married Leslie Lloyd, with whom he had four had four children, Timothy, Mark, Brenda and Brooke. They were later divorced.  He is also survived by his grandson Devon.

David later met Janelle Wilkes Stayman who turned out to be the woman he was looking for, the woman he loved with his whole heart. In return she loved him back. They were married January 14, 2000. He is survived by her sons William, and Christopher along with his granddaughter Sydney who he always treated as his own.

At David's request, no service will be held.  A celebration of his life will be held by close family members and friends.  In lieu of flowers he would like to contribute to an animal rescue foundation of your choice in his name.

In Loving Memory

I worked with David at the Telepone Company for several years and knew of his great love of the machinery we worked with. He was very proud of his ancestor, Daniel Boone and spoke fondly of that fact. Yes he would say, it is THAT Daniel Boone. He had a sharp wit and was a good man to work with. You knew he knew his STUFF. Please accept my heart felt condolences. Roland Arterburn

Aunt Janelle, Will, Chris, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Although I never got the pleasure of meeting dave, I had a few good conversations with him on FB, and very much enjoyed reading the funny things he posted there. Janelle, you have always been, and always be like a mother to me, and the boys, like little brothers. I love and miss you all. If you need anything at all, please let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Love you, Krista.

Dave and I worked together on the Microwave Radio crew for a number of years. I learned a great respect for Dave's intelligence and his wit. People may not know this, but he volunteered to tutor math students in his spare time after work. He would have made a great college professor and had an amazing memory. He also was quite good on the guitar. I am saddened by his death. We kept in touch for a time after his retirement via email. I was honored that he called me his friend. Dave, thanks for those times we spent in the snow cat going to Mud Flat and for the funny "64m007 radio" humor over the years. I will miss your company in the days I have remaining. Danny
